I have been experiencing a lot of sharp shooting pains and clogged ducts the past few days. I've tried hot compresses, massaging the area but it still hurts a lot to pump and breast feed. Could this be something more than clogged ducts?
I called my Dr but they just told me to stop by urgent care if it is bothering me so much. I might go by tonight when DH gets home from work

If you've had fevers or felt flu-like symptoms, it could be mastitis. How long have you been breastfeeding? I know that for the first 4-6 weeks, it felt different all the time.

Sounds like clogged ducts that could lead to mastitis. 
If you end up getting a fever/body chills, call your doc right away because it could be mastitis (breast infection). They'll give you antibiotics, which you can still take while bfing. The 2 times I had mastitis, they both started with painful boobs/clogged ducts. Keep massaging and pumping/bfing. Try using a heating pad and also take a hot hot shower and massage. Sometimes if you can unclog it, it'll resolve on its own. Otherwise, could lead to mastitis. Do you see any red patches on your boobs?

I've been breast feeding for 6 weeks. No redness or fever yet. I will try to pump/feed more and heating pad!

It does sound like clogged ducts but the shooting pains is what I've heard thrush feels like.
For clogged ducts I would just take long hot showers and massage the tender area and then try to keep a heating pad on it some and empty it regularly.
