Do any of you use a bottle warmer to heat up your breastmilk? I want to get a bottle warmer to use for longer days out like when we go to church. Just wondering if this is safe for breastmilk? Also has anyone used a bottle warmer with the playtex drop-in liner bottles.? Also which bottle warmers do you recommend?

I don't use a bottle warmer but according to KellyMom it's safe to use.

We never bought a bottle warmer. For those "longer days out" we would just set the bottle out to let it get to room temperature and then give it to her that way. When nursing, the milk isn't warm, so she never really needed/wanted a really warm/hot bottle.

I use the doctor browns bottle warmer and I love it. It's been great so far, although we did have to adjust the time from what they suggested so that it's the right temp for LO (she likes her bottles HOT).

@Mrsbells: Yeah, I bought it when I had a gift card! Our daycare uses Munchkin warmers and it seems like they work well!

Ok thanks guys. I decided to start out with a cheapie by First years and see how I like it since I wont be using it very often.

We have the first years bottle warmer and it works well for us. We use more water than is recommended because we were having to go through two heat cycles with the recommended amount. Otherwise it just takes a minute or two to heat up his bottles, he won't take them cold.

@Mrsbells: We just swirl it until the foremilk and hindmilk mix back together. Though we don't give it to her cold, we give her room temperature milk.

@mrsjazz: Oh I see.. that makes sense. I used to give baby room temp formula in the early days and she was fine with it. But once I got the hang of breastfeeding, she now wont drink anything room temp from a bottle. My breastmilk feels warm when its freshly pumped so maybe thats why.

@kiddosc: Yeah I have started using more water too. I much rather put more water than have the water run out and the bottle is still cold.
