Baby jellyfish is 8 weeks now and still yellow 
His most recent bilirubin level was 12. All other blood tests have come back normal so the ped thinks its breast milk jaundice. She didn't recommend going on formula and just said that we would wait and see if it resolved by 3 or 4 months. I still feel very nervous about it and wonder if I should still be breastfeeding him. Do any other mamas have any experience with breast milk jaundice? When did it finally resolve? Thanks bees!

@Jellyfish: both my kids had breast milk jaundice… it resolved by 12 weeks or so. i wouldn't let it be a deterrent to breastfeeding. i'm still breastfeeding DS and he's almost 9 months now, and i breastfed DD until she was 11 months.

LO had it (although I think it was partly related to the meds I was taking pp) and it resolved around 12 weeks. Just keep feeding, and put lo in sunlight if you can!

i don't know if my LO had breastmilk jaundice, but she was yellow up until maybe 2 months old. Her bili level was at 13 at 1 month old. i think the level has to be over 20 for them to require hospitalization and the bili lights.

My LO had breastmilk jaundice. It cleared up at about 3 months. I was worried about if I should still be breast feeding, but it all worked out fine. Was your LO born early? The pediatrician thought that it might have been because my DS was born 5 weeks early.

Princessbaby's baby had it. The aap recommendation is to feed through it. You don't want to risk messing with your supply.

Good to know other bees have gone through this. Hopefully it will clear up by 3 months. Thanks for everyone for the advice!

Bumping this... DD is 3 weeks and still pretty jaundiced. Her ped told me it would go away on it's own and didn't test her levels. Has anyone had luck feeding formula for 24 to 48 hours and then it resolved itself?

@kml636: I just continued to feed them breastmilk and made sure they had enough wet diapers. It resolved on its own around 3 months.
