Can breastfeeding have an effect on ovulation? I'm on my 3rd menstrual cycle post baby #2 (9 months old 
and I'm stressing I may have randomly ovulated right after my period. This has never happened before. I've always been pretty text book, Ovulating around day 15 with a 28-30 day cycle.

It definitely did for me. My cycles were short and unpredictable while bfing and then for a few months after weaning.

Yes. I always ovulated on day 14 before having my daughter. My cycle returned at 10 months postpartum, still breastfeeding. I have ovulated on day 11 or 12 since then, and am still breastfeeding at 17 months.

But this would mean I O'd around 10 days early! I hope this is just a wacky cycle. I had random spotting a week later and have had cramps since.

Still no AF... iS it normal to get 2 post pardum AF and then it stop again? I am bf-ing my 9 mo old still. This has never happened before...

yep I'm all over the place here. Almost 15 month old, have had AF since 9 months but its all over the place - randomly between 30-35 days, fairly light, and then a crazy heavy one last month. I've had fairly bad cyst pain on my left hand side too, but not at the obvious 14 day point.

@jh524: Yes I got AF back 2 months after DS was pumping and supplementing .....then skipped a month I was BF more he was eating better so I think my body is out of wack I got it for a few days a few weeks ago and nothing since!
Definitely can be wonky for awhile

It can definitely get weird. My first period postpartum was super light, then nothing for a couple of months. Still though, it can't hurt to test if you're concerned.

@PawPrints: I tested when my period was late and got bfn. If i was pregnant i would have gotten a positive a week or more ago.

Yup. This is how I got pregnant by having sex on CD6 while BF!!!!!
