T is 2 months old today and we nursed for the first time successfully without the Boppy! He was super fussy and was trying to suckle on my shirt so I just quickly whipped my shirt up, grabbed the nipple shield and tried to nurse him. It took a little adjusting but we figured it out and I was actually able to sit back and relax and not have to hold my boob while he nursed. He also latched on perfectly by himself when we get a good latch 50/50 on the pillow.
We even got to look at each other in eyes and have a moment. He can't see my face well on the pillow. He just stares straight ahead. This also opens up to being able to nurse much easier in public! I won't have to hide in the car all the time. Wee!
I thought we'd never nurse without the pillow. He just needed to get bigger! I could tell he enjoyed it much more too.
Just celebrating!! I'm so thrilled!
