No nausea or vomiting though I had assumed beforehand that I would - I'm a quick puker in most illness type circumstances. Good luck!!

Not really - the only time I puked was when the midwives had me try gas and air whilst in labour with DD1. I took a few puffs of it and immediately got sick. I stopped with the gas and air straightaway and that was the ending of the puking.
None at all with LO2.

I kept feeling like I would with DS because I was pushing so hard but never did. Didn't with 2.

I vomited for the full four hours of active labor. It was intensely miserable
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
Not in labor but right after I was placed on the table for my csection. It was the meds though.

Twice during transition. They had turned down the epi a bit so I could have some feeling when pushing so I was starting to feel the contractions pretty intensely.

With my first as soon as they tolde I could start pushing I got sick. It was prolly just nerves. No nausea or sickness during my second labor
nectarine / 2834 posts
Good luck!
I puked during transition...during a contraction...as they were making me hold still (hovering over DH) to place the epidural. All of those factors contributed and the nurse barely got the pan on top of DH's head in time. He felt each splash....

With my first I did at the first real contractions. I was in the hospital so they gave me a dose of zofran and I was fine through the rest of the labor.
With my second I was never even remotely nauseous.

Yes and as luck would have it I ate hot wings that night! AWFUL!

I asked this a few days before I went into labour too! Not just out of curiosity though, I'm a huge emetophobic and was more nervous about puking than I was about labour.
You can go back and look for my post but IIRC it was about a 50/50 split on the poll!
For the record - no puking here!!! Although once I was past about 7cm dilated apparently i said I was going to puke on every contraction. I also used the gas once and it made me SO nauseous.

I really thought I would, because I vomited the entirety of both pregnancies, but I didn't during either labor/ delivery (both were inductions).

Good luck!
I vomited a few times early on, post pitocin but pre epidural. I had no idea it was so common until it happened to me!

I threw up every time DH kissed my forehead to comfort me. After the third time he realized he should stop.
persimmon / 1179 posts
I did. Not sure exactly how many cm but it was near transition. I had an epidural because my labour was so long so I asked for a popcycle to try and get some energy from the sugar. Definitely puked shortly after finishing it. I could only stomach water/ice chips.

When I transitioned, my apple and peanut butter came right up. I didn't even feel nauseous, but a nurse must've known it was coming because she had a bucket ready for me

Yep it was all liquid, but def yakked before transition
papaya / 10343 posts
Yep, but it wasn't labor it was the epidural. Right after I got it I felt really nauseous and they gave me some anti-nausea med that worked for a bit then wore off and I puked.
pear / 1586 posts
I threw up twice while pushing. Luckily I told my husband it was going to happen and I made it into a bag. I actually threw up more then than in my entire pregnancy!
grapefruit / 4120 posts
I puked on my bathroom wall while sitting on the toilet. Must have been transition, when you can't decide which end needs the toilet more. Good times.
nectarine / 2115 posts
Twice, both were after my water had broken and I was most likely in transition. Fun times.

I did not throw up during labor. I felt a little nauseous as my labor got going but never felt like I was truly going to throw up.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@blackbird: I don't remember feeling nauseous either. Just all of a sudden would have to puke.

what?!?! this is a thing?? I didnt know this.. I have a crazy irrational fear of puking. Pre-pregnancy I had only vomited 3 times since late childhood. I just feel like Im going to lose control and choke.. Ugh.. One more thing to be scared of re:labor!
pomegranate / 3779 posts
I did, but not until after it was all done and I was holding the baby. I asked my husband to take the baby and he just looked at me. Luckily my sister was standing right beside me and she took the baby just before I threw up all over the blanket on my lap.

@youboots: same, I puked only once though. It was bile. I was induced and it took 2.5 days so I didn't have anything to puke up. Not cool man, not cool... I *think* it was at the ring of fire. I had epi.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@travellingbee: yes! So weird! I seriously think my nurse had some intuition about it because I remember thinking "wow, I didn't even feel bad"
apricot / 388 posts
Yes a few times. I had gotten demerol and I think it was a mix of coming off of it and the contractions getting super intense at the same time. Right after that I got an epi and next time will skip the IV pain meds and go right for the epi.
