I start work next week and my daycare requires the kiddo to go for a few days before you go back to work in case something happens, in case they don't eat, etc. So, tomorrow is Tyler's first day of school! I am so nervous (and not thrilled to be heading back to work). But part of me is excited because I think he will like it - and because I'm getting my haircut, and will get a mani pedi!
Did your LO do a daycare trial run? How did he/she do?

Ours didn't require it but we did it anyway since we started paying for daycare on Monday but I didn't go back to work until Thursday. She did great, and it was a relief for me to not be worrying about her being at daycare for the first time my first day back. Of course, it also meant she was sick by my first day of work...

Yes, she did great! She wasn't mobile then but she liked all the teachers right away and enjoyed snuggling with them.

We did a trial run - LO went to daycare for several hours for a few days before starting full time. She's loved daycare since moment 1.

We did a 1 day trial run that was a short day.
We did drop off around 9 am after the rush of all the other kids getting there had calmed down.
I went to the mall with my mom and got my hair cut. For sure have plans for that day because it is really hard and going home alone is no fun!
I think around 3 pm we called and she was sleeping and by 4 or so we went to pick her up.
The next day she started fullt ime.

@Thehistoryofus: He's going to go around 9 as well! Tomorrow planning on 1/2 day depending on how he does. Friday will be a full day. I'm throwing a baby shower for my friend on Saturday so Friday will be spent grocery shopping and getting shower stuff ready : )

Our daycare didn't require it but encouraged it (more for the parents than the child since she started at 8weeks). I dropped her off for about 4 hours so I could get my hair cut/colored for a family wedding we were attending right before I returned to work. We also sent her to daycare for the full day before I went back to work just in case. She did fine both times, I was fine when I dropped her off for the "trial run" but cried the first two mornings of actual drop-off (but that could have been the reality of returning to work setting in). Honestly I cried more on her last day, we just moved her to a nanny since daycare for too is so expensive.

@winniebee: If Tyler is like Brennan, you are going to get a tired baby at the end of the day. Brennan is so tired from playing that he sleeps great. Plus, they are at the age where they love to stare at other babies. I swear Brennan is so happy to see his teachers and friends he forgets I'm even there when I drop him off. Does your daycare have a night out? We have our first one this friday, it's where they watch your LO till 9 p.m. so you and your DH can have some alone time. I got a hard time from a lot of people about putting Brennan in daycare but it is seriously the best decision we made. Hopefully you guys love your daycare as much as we do ours!

@krsmall: That sounds AWESOME! They don't have a night out but I wish they did! Instead my parents are watching Tyler on Saturday night : ) I know that he is going to like it because he looooves music class and being around other babies. I'm a little concerned about his sleep situation since he naps terribly these days and gets fussy if he doesn't nap so I don't want him to be strung out and a fusspot all day. But I guess that won't be my problem anymore ; )
