My toddler started the week before I went back to work and it definitely helped with my daycare worries.
I'm not sure if I should do a practice day (I don't want to pay for a week!) with the baby. I start work on a Tuesday so maybe on Monday. I'm in a crazy "I don't want to share my baby" phase right now but it might be a good idea...and maybe we can use it as a day date!

DD started two weeks before I went back to work. Week 1 was a very gradual week: 1 hour, then the morning, then morning + lunch, then morning/lunch/nap, etc. Week 2 was a full week for which I paid. It really helped *ME* feel comfortable on my first day back at work.

No, my first day back at work, DH watched her. I went back on a Wedn. Then we had a holiday weekend (off Thurs/Fri). Then she went to daycare the first Monday. It was nice to get photo updates whenever I wanted

Yup, she started 1 month before i started. I eased her in verrrrry slowly.

No she started the same day that I went back to work. I just couldn't bear to part with her sooner than that I only had 12 weeks off

DD started the same day I went back - that was SO hard on me. I'd love to do it gradually over a week, but we'll see how it goes when that time comes up.

Yup! She went in for a half day the day before I went to work. Seeing how happy she was when I went to pick her up made my first day really easy. It also helped having a half day to myself to go to the gym and then sit at Starbucks alone for a half hour

Yes, she went in the Thursday before I went back to work in the afternoon and all day Friday. We had planned that DH would take my first week off to do the daycare transition but LO never took the bottle before I went back to work. I decided I needed her to start taking the bottle at daycare before I could be 90 minutes away.
I'm a big proponent of taking the day (or more) to transition. When are you next going to get a break like that?

Yup, we started paying for daycare on Monday and I went back on Thursday. I took LO in Monday and Wednesday to get us both used to it.

No. I only had 12 weeks with her and by the end I was not about to give up my last moments with her before I went back to work.
