For the past few days, my LO has been having trouble with my left breast. On the right, she latches like a champ and sucks persistently for 20-30+ minutes. On the left, I guess I have an overactive letdown because she sucks for 5 minute clips and pulls off coughing and pushes the milk down (doesn't spit up) but then needs to be burped and may not come back to the boob for 20+ minutes.
I'm still trying to find my rhythm after engorgement issues last week, and have found doing one breast per feeding is best for my supply - but if she's feeding 30 minutes on the right and 5 minute intervals on the left it's tough to know how much she's getting and when to switch sides...do I do a few on the left for every right? I'm also concerned about giving her the left breast overnight because I fear it will lead to short frequent feedings (this hasn't been the case but the issues with the left just started)
Also any tips for evening out the two sides - if that's even possible - would also be great! I can feel how the milk pours into her and even though she handles it well, I feel bad! Would pumping help in any capacity?
