After your LO has a meal of solids, do you burp him/her? It never crossed my mind to until recently. After solids, we'll get cleaned up and get back on the floor for some playing and within a few minutes, LO will burp 1-2 times.
Should I burp her myself or just let her do it on her own?

I don't burp LO at all anymore. She's pretty good at burping herself.

@Rubies: Nope. Usually she'll sit up and sometimes a burp comes out and sometimes it doesn't. She's always been a good burper, she burps before I can even put her on my shoulder to burp her. And I figured if she needed to burp or if she was uncomfortable she would tell me.

No, never thought to do that. I stopped burping LO before 6 months and that is when we started solids.

I dont burp Liv at all anymore either, even after BFing. But after her solids and water from her sippy cup, she will let out a belch and laugh hysterically. She thinks burps are hilarious, especially if DH or I do it.

No, I stopped burping him at around 6 or 7 months, once he started eating solids and burping on his own. He hasn't had any gas problems or anything so I think he's good.

@LivsMama: Well it's probably my fault. When she toots, I say in a very excited voice, "you tooted!" or "toots!"

@artbee: So do I! Half the time I say "uhoh! You sparkled!" and the other half its "the baby tooted!" and she smiles. Im prob headed for laughs there too.

@LivsMama: I think I'm preventing her from ever getting a boyfriend. Who wants to date the girl who laughs when she toots?! Hopefully she'll grow out of it.
