In a situation where you are paying a babysitter. Do you ever tip them? Assuming you're not running later than you told them.
I'm planning to round up to the nearest $5 increment. But don't know if tipping is common?

We don't really tip, but we round up. So like, if she babysat from 7-10:10, we'd give her 3.5 hours of pay (and we pay $20/hr, so that's an extra $10 for that 10 mins)

I always round up.
Sometimes if they're doing a huge favor on short notice I'll give a little extra.

I wouldn't use the word "tip", because to me a tip is something you give a person who is not working for themselves, so to speak. So a waitress that is otherwise making 2.13 an hour. Or a hairstylist that is renting their chair in a salon.
But for a babysitter, who is charging a fixed rate per hour and is keeping the whole amount? No, no "tip". We do round up to the half hour, but that's just because we don't tend to have singles, but I don't consider it a tip (something I would give or not give depending on how well she babysat).

I always do. We generally pay her an extra hour, and if we run late, we tip it up even more. We probably overpay but we love our babysitter and she is overqualified (she used to be LO's daycare teacher) so we gladly pay a little extra to keep her.
