I feel like a whole new world has opened up since we ended our bfing journey... I mean the # of times DH has been able to do bath/bed time in the last few weeks has skyrocketed and ds is 12.5 months!!!!!!!!!!! I've been able to make dinner for us or run a last minute errand. Meet a friend for dinner...etc. w/o having to worry about pumping or feeding DS.
While I sometimes miss our nursing sessions, I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad to "have my body back" and not feel like the cow anymore!!!!!!!!!!

I felt free when I stopped pumping at work. I started going out for lunch with coworkers!

Yes!!! It is very liberating to have my body back for a while!! Although I miss the nursing bond we had

Yes! DS still tries to nurse every couple of days if he wakes up super early or wakes up from a nap still tired, but he will go 2-3 days in between so I feel like we are finished. I'm happy that he self weaned and that it happened before we got pregnant again. I am also psyched to drink coffee whenever I want to now. lol.

yes!! I love being able to have a beer or wine and not worry about when I'll have to nurse/pump. also having as many cups of coffee as i want! and being able to go places and not have to worry about being back in time. so freeing! but i do occasionally miss it!

I'm very excited for this when I stop EP in a month or so. I feel guilty that people like you managed to go so long and I'm whining about hitting 3 months, but I know if was getting more than 6-8 oz a day I would be more apt to stick with it... that just doesn't seem worth it for all the frustrations. I cannot wait for the freeing feeling! I even feel like I do LO a disservice sometimes ;by being so tethered to the pump, so I can't wait.

Yep!! R was 7.5 months when I fully weaned and I have to say that I don't miss it at all. She still snuggles up to me every night for her last bottle. but I LOVE LOVE not pumping and not feeling like a milk cow.

@KJpugs, I was down to 7oz/day when I threw in the towel. Eff that noise. I was spending too much precious time pumping when I could have been engaging my LO

@blackbird: I'm barely there now. DH and I (ok.. moreso DH) want her to get 3 months with some BM every day and then we're ok weaning. But man am I OVER IT. MOOO.

I just stopped BF 2 days ago at 17.5 months! Bittersweet, but I'm more excited than anything. Just waiting for my body to get the memo so the "girls" return to normal!

I still nurse my daughter a tiny bit at 26 months, but she's been just fine without it for at least 6 months. It was such a freeing feeling to know that I could go out and do whatever and not have to worry about it.

I am in the process of weaning (she just turned one and only bf's twice a day) and it definitely makes things a bit easier!
