We've had our nanny for a year and I haven't had WC insurance in place for her yet. I'm thinking about getting a basic policy through homepay. It is like $600 per year, plus fees, so I'm going to look around a little. Do you have WC insurance for your nannY? If so, what company is it through?

@winniebee: I did have workers compensation for my nanny. It's required by law if you pay on the books and I got my policy through the state's insurance fund.

@mrsjazz: It's only required in certain states - not in mine, though. I pay over the table....even though it's not a requirement in my state, I want to do it anyways.

Yes - got it through the provider of our renter's insurance policy. I understand it is not typically too expensive as an add-on to your homeowners or renter's policy? Ours is only a few hundred dollars a year extra if I recall.
