I've been out of college for 10 years now, so I don't talk about it too often.
Met some new people last weekend and I thought it was interesting that they asked me where I went.
Usually people ask "What do you do?"

It comes up once in a while, but not too often. Hubs still wears his college shirts, and a lot of people from our church went to the same college we did, or knew people who did, so it's mention ocassionally.

Most people think I'm still IN college since I look really young to begin with and I'm only 22. I graduated at 20 though.

Less and less often as time goes on. Its been 9 years since graduating, but I still reminisce sometimes with my best friend (who I met in college). Also, in my line of work, people like to know where you went to school (a lot of the people in my industry went to my school) and what year so they can play the name game.

It rarely ever comes up... I definitely never bring it up myself!

I do! But that's only because I graduate on the 12th I'm so excited to be done!

@chopsuey119: I've found that in the south people always want to know where you went to school! Mainly because of the sports. Southerners are big college sports fans.

I never talk about it. Such a long time ago ... and such little relevance to day to day life!

I'm a proud alum and if people ask, I'll tell them where I went.

The subject comes up often, mainly because I live in a college town. Instead of asking where I went, they ask if we work for the university. It has been 4 years since I graduated, and I'm considering going back.

Nope. I'll tell people where I went and sometimes my husband or I will reminisce about something at our college (we went to the same college but didn't know each other then). It's very low on the topic scale, though.

@MamaMoose: I agree. People in the south are always very interested in what college a person went to so they can determine college football allegiances. It took awhile to get used to when I moved here.

@PBandBaseball: @MamaMoose: Agreed! First thing people want to know if you're Georgia Football or not. I go to UGA and don't care about football but am "in." What? I don't know, but people def want to know in the south.

Yes; my husband and I talk about it all the time. I'm also in a grad program right now, so I talk about that a lot...

@dc yoga bee: I know! My sister went to FSU and people would get offended when she'd tell them that she didn't care about going to football games.

@chopsuey119: That's awesome! Have you ever been? Tallahassee is a cool town.

No, unless it comes up. usually with a new group of people I meet and wants to know the basics about me.
