If he's still nursing on demand? I pretty much know the answer is no, he can be offered water to practice drinking from a cup and with meals.

I am vacationing with my mother in law and she's constantly going on about how he needs more water. He nurses frequently during the night and 4-5 times (some very brief some long) during the day. Plenty of wet diapers, etc etc.
She will literally ignore me when I say he doesn't need it and take a spoon or small cup and give it to him. I don't mind giving him water, he's not chugging a glass or bottle full. He doesn't even take a bottle. It just bothers me how she constantly implies I am depriving him. He will almost always try to drink the water because it's fun to him, and so she will say "see? He wants it!!"

She also constantly mentions he's hungry and wants to offer him snacks all day long. He isn't eating way too much but I don't think he needs to be offered bread and fruit constantly throughout the day.

Anyways, this is mainly a vent I guess. So I apologize!
