Our daycare only accepts cash or check and I find it so annoying. We're starting LO at a preschool in August and they accept credit cards...I can't wait. We'll earn SO many miles/points!

@lawbee11: our Old one did not - this one does - yes to all the points!!

No and it annoys me to no end because I can't help but think of the free flights we would get if we could only charge it.
They used to accept checks/electronic transfer type payment, now all they accept is electronic transfer from bank account.

only Discover, and i'm not sure I want to get a card JUST for daycare, but I'm debating if it's worth it, with the 50K+ we'll be funneling to them. So, if anyone wants to recommend a good Discover card...

Yes - like you said, we get so many points! Between all the points we got for charging IVF on a credit card and now daycare, Bennett has made us a fortune in free groceries!

I wish! Ours only accepts wire transfers. Checks don't exist here.

Yes, they take credit card but you have to pay tuition monthly by card and they take on the processing fee of 2%. We just write a check because I'm stubborn about the fee.

@blackbird: I would get a Discover It card. There's a write-up about it in this blog post...

yes but there's a $75 processing fee. We just do a direct bank account transfer.

@hilsy85: Wow! Is that just a one-time fee? Still pretty high!
squash / 13764 posts
@lawbee11: nope, it would every time we needed to charge something. So one for tuition deposit, and one for each of the two payments for the year. Too bad, we'd love to have the cash back from our AmEx!

@lawbee11: awesome, thanks. I hate having more credit cards, but i'm paying the bill in full anyways...

Yes and no fee! It is a nature center though so they have people donating and they teach fee-based programs for kids through adults.
pomegranate / 3438 posts
No, but the do an electronic funds transfer and we get a 2% discount for doing that. I wish they took credit cards! All those points...
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
No, only check or cash. If only they took cards, we'd be reaping in the rewards!
pomelo / 5789 posts
I wish!!! We'd earn so many miles. They draft from bank accounts or accept checks.

We got a Discover card just so we could use it for daycare. I would not be happy about missing out on all those points.

I have to physically write a check every month. They don't accept payment any other way.
pomegranate / 3113 posts
No, only checks. We have one sent automatically each month from our online checking, so we never really need to think about it...but I agree it's annoying not to get the CC points.
grapefruit / 4545 posts
Ours takes CC or check, no cash. It can all be done online - which is so nice!
coconut / 8430 posts
Nope they only do auto debit from our bank account. I wish they took cards!
grapefruit / 4923 posts
no, they do automatic debit. i lived in an apartment where you could charge rent to your credit card--that was nice, except that they made you jump through 15 hoops each time to do it.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
Nope - cash or check only!
We could use a cc/debit at the center, but now he's at an in-home.
clementine / 778 posts
Yes, but we it sent up our account to pull from our bank account weekly.
