I am experimenting with pumping and bottle feeding at night. However, drinking a bottle doesn't make DD sleepy like nursing does so I am just sitting here waiting for her to get sleepy again. Does your LO pass out after drinking a bottle? Any tips?

sometimes he drinks with his eyes closed if he's sleepy. but usually he'll pass out when I burp him.
if he doesn't, I'll nurse him a little after bottle feeding to make him drowsy.

@chopsuey119: yeah, she is starting to pass out now or else I was gonna whip out a boob. Sigh. DD1 never passed out with a bottle either. They are both wide awake while eating!

She does. I let her eat in her r'n'p and put her white noise machine back on for her. I do my best to barely wake her anyways.

@MaisyMay: so you always feed her before she wakes up?

@Andrea: I try to get to her when she's just stirring and starting to make noise but isn't totally awake. While eating, she'll sleepily blink at me a few times, but doesn't usually wake all the way. Normally our process is: hear her start to fuss, move/turn down her white noise machine, feed her, put paci in, replace white noise machine, rock her rock'n'play for a few minutes. Then I turn off the lights and go into the other room to pump.

@MaisyMay: I'll have to try this if she ever stops pooping so much. I have to disturb her for diaper changes.

@Andrea: LO has been mostly having wet diapers, so I haven't been changing her at night. She normally goes from 11-7 or so in the same diaper.

@MaisyMay: oh yeah, if it was just wet then I wouldn't change!

@Andrea: I can't tell without checking, and she hasn't had any diaper rashes since we've started going the night without checking, so I play the "ignorance is bliss" and just don't look.
