When Wagon Jr. first started on table foods, he ate green beans and sweet potatoes every day. We had just started in on a few other veggies (carrots, cauliflower, broccoli) when he started on his picky phase and the number of foods he would eat dwindled down to 6!! He would just immediately spit out most foods except for eggs, pasta, ham, cheese, applesauce, and yogurt. He wouldn't even eat bread (!!) or his beloved bananas. That lasted for a good few months (torturous!!!), and only now is he starting to eat other foods, both foods that he USED to love and brand new foods. We can now sometimes convince him to NOT spit something out and just keep chewing, but it's still a constant battle, especially with vegetables.
Most of the parents of older kids that I speak with just explain that their kids don't eat veggies, or they will only eat one (usually broccoli).
I'm pretty sure he's getting enough nutrition from his pasta (we mix whole grain pasta with garden delight, which has ground up veggies in it) and his daily vitamins, but of course we want him to start eating veggies regularly again!
Does your older (older than 2) toddler eat veggies on a regular basis?? Please tell me I'm not alone!!!
