I'm curious about this right now as well! our LO is also 9 months. We usually just use the Phil & Ted's lobster chair that is hooked to our kitchen table -- but I'm starting to feel like we need a high chair maybe.

Haha I was going to suggest the oxo sprout, that's what we got for our small apartment! I guess it doesn't fold up though, so that's a major downside.

do you think it's important to have the tray? or we could just use the table, even though it's messy.

@hellobeeboston: the mamas & papas one can pull under a table too! It doesn't work with our table though because we have an apron around it. I really liked the tripp trapp too but I didn't want to spend that much. I don't think a tray is necessary. As long as you don't mind your table getting messy!
