Thanks everyone! Just made a dr appt- 2/19. They don't do a blood test or anything before then. HOW DOES ANYONE SURVIVE WAITING? And I thought the TWW was bad.

Sending highly contagious baby dust to everyone else on here!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's make this month even better #'s than January's!

@Ash: Yeah I just use the My Days app to track periods, I haven't ever used OKP's or temping or any of that. I don't think I sleep well enough to get accurate temps, so I think i'll get OKPs once I get AF. I don't know anything about them, so it'll be a learning experience!

    @KJfromNJ: Congrats!!

@MrsTiz: I definitely recommend them. Way back in August when I got my BFP, I was shocked. We got married August 4th (first time pulling the goalie) and I got my BFP August 19th... but the My Days app said I Od about 5-6 days before our wedding. I started opks last month, and even though my cycle is out of whack, I noticed I didn't O til cd19... which totally made sense to me. I just bought the wondfo opks off of amazon... like a 20 pack lasted me a little over a month. If I don't get a BFP this month, I'm going to get a combo pack of wondfos and clearblue smileys. You are probably bding on the wrong days... silly apps don't have a clue! Our m/c has made me learn so much about my body, as I'm sure it has you too!!

@MrsTiz: OMG i would ABSOLUTELY either temp or use OPKs if you aren't already!! Almost nobody Os exactly halfway through their cycles like the apps would have you believe. We would never ever have gotten a BFP without use of all those tools since I Od at like CD20. At least then you know better when to try!

@MrsTiz: I agree with everyone- OPK's temping is great. I signed up for a free account on fertility friend and tracked temps (though mine are ALL OVER the place and have been, so less reliable for me) and did OPK's CD10-20 per my OB's instructions. It really helped, plus in the app you can track test results, meds, symptoms, days you BD, etc, which makes it easier to look back on trends. I felt like I was preggo yesterday but looking back and seeing that I ALWAYS spotted pre AF by CD27 and it was CD28 without spotting, made me more excited/confident. It's really helpful, even just for keeping your thoughts straight.

@KJfromNJ: Yea, the only thing you can do, if you want, is go to your general practitioner and they will basically give you the same test you can take at home. I was told the pregnancy tests today are so good that they don't feel the need to test, they just have you come in for your first OB appt. Sticky dust to you!!! And a happy healthy 9 months!

@LindsayInNYC: I will try to record it! He'll probably freak out. He knew my period was expected today but I don't think he realized that meant I would test. Should be funny

@KJfromNJ - I'm getting no work done because I'm so EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! I love having a place where I can share the whole TTC journey and early BFP since it's not something I'll be able to share with people IRL.

@Ash: you are a sweetie. 10dpo here today, no symptoms apart from fatigue (work is also hectic) and cramps (could be AF). Guess we'll find out this weekend. Longest my LP has been was 16 days.

@SweetMamaM: Thanks so much NZ BFF!!!!!!!!!! I was seeing signs but not optimistic so it was kind of half "I saw it coming" and half TOTAL SHOCK. Hubby is ON HIS WAY HOME NOW GAHHHHHHH!

@Ash: @KJfromNJ: @JoJoGirl: I knowww, I just am a cheap-o and didn't want to buy them, ahh peer pressure lol! When should I start them? My cycles are out of whack now, I was like clockwork on 28day cycles, now i'm late by a week so who knows? I wasn't specifically relying on my estimated O day to BD, there were 5 days in January where we didn't BD (sorry if that's TMI)...and I am going to punch someone if one of those five days was O day!

Okay, so pointers for OKP's would be appreciated! Do I have to temp with them, or can they be done alone?

  30. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@MrsTiz: My doc recc'd the clear blue ones with the happy face, since they're so much easier to read. You can get them cheaper on amazon or I use my CVS ExtraCare card 20 to 30% coupon you get almost every weekend to buy them too. Each box has 20 so that's good for 2 cycles. You don't have to do either together or alone- people track/chart using temps, OPK's, CM, or a combo of them. Your Cycle starts day 1 of your period (heavy flow not spotting) and so CD10 is when she had me start doing OPK's. OPK kits tell you to start at like day 6 or something but CD10-20 sure worked for us this cycle!

And I don't think BD every other day from after your period through when it's going to start up again could hurt at all. That's probably the cheapest way to do it but my husband can barely handle that!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@MrsTiz: Well having sex makes you pregnant, not OPKs, so you're probably fine with previous months But it is helpful to know when you Od so you know when to test, how long your LP is, etc. You should start testing on like CD10 or so, so if you're waiting for AF now (have you tested??) then just start next month. I like the smileys too even though they are expensive. But cheaper on Amazon. You CAN do them alone but I found it more helpful to do it together with charting so I would know exactly what day I Od intead of just an estimate.

  32. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@KJfromNJ: @JoJoGirl: Thanks for the information! I tested at 8dpo, 10dpo, and this Saturday which was 14dpo (mind you, this is all just from a period tracker app). Either way, they were all negative and no sign of AF yet! AF has always been like clockwork, I had a miscarriage in October, took 10 weeks to get AF again, and that was in January, I'm thinking that is probably why my cycles are weird.

This is probably TMI but I think I may be about to ovulate because I have a lot of EWCM. Hopefully tomorrow my clearblue monitor will show that I'm ovulating. Fingers crossed.
