I teach 1st grade and we try to do 4
1 per 9 weeks
Most grades do the same!

With that said some get approved ahead of time so parents are aware and some take more time!
We just had our BIG one to a zoo and its pricey so parents knew a few months before hand, for $ purposes!
We have our last May 4th and permission slips will go out April 1st!

We haven't had any field trips at preschool yet. LO1 is in kindergarten and went on a field trip to the farm in the fall. He has two more planned for the remainder of the year to see a play and visit a recycling center.

Daycare: they go on one "big" trip per month, and usually one outing per week. In the summer they go to the city beach every week.

School: they've done a few trips, 2 museums, a farm, the Christmas market, I must be forgetting something else. They went ice skating every week for 6 weeks at the beginning of the year. There will probably be a few more before the end of the school year.
