Yes I'm venting. Zuma is allergic to corn and strawberries. And now tonight she's just had another allergic reaction to something. So we get to eliminate every food in the world again 
I know it's for her safety, it just sucks having to keep doing it over and over again. Can anyone relate?

There's a food allergy and sensitivity blood test, maybe that would be easier? I had it done by naturopath.

Both of my kids have food allergies. LO1 is allergic to dairy, eggs, and peanuts (he will go into anaphylactic shock if he consumes it). LO2 is allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, most seeds, and some varieties of fish (possibly all). Both kids had blood tests done to confirm their allergies in addition to a skin prick test. It is more accurate when done after 1. I would suggest bringing it up to your doctor and seeing an allergist. It's important to get a prescription for an Epi-pen in cases of emergency if your LO has food allergies.
Food allergies are difficult, and it takes time to adjust. I'm currently on the same food restrictions as LO2 since I'm still breastfeeding. Some days are a real struggle. I can only wish that both of my kids will outgrow it. So far LO1 can tolerate baked foods with dairy and eggs. LO2 reacts differently from his brother, and it catches us by surprise.
Stay strong. It's not easy, but we do everything we can to keep our children safe.

I remember those days. It was tough. I had all these ideas about weaning and how fun it would be ... especially seeing other moms just experimenting with food and not having to worry about it. It took so long to figure out what was safe and that feeling after a reaction, hoping it's not severe, then having to start all over again.
But after while, you'll have a list of safe foods and hopefully she'll even grow out of her allergies. DD was allergic to gluten, eggs, and intolerant to milk protein. She's now only allergic to eggs
It'll get easier. Hugs!

Is she 1 yet? An allergist can identify specific allergies with blood testing and can make managing allergies seem much less daunting.

I can totally relate. We've done the anaphylactic allergy testing thing thanks to a peanut reaction and he is in fact life threateningly allergic to a couple of types of nuts. BUT I notice digestive / behavioral / eczema symptoms from his non "allergy" foods and hate going through the whole elimination process. I feel alone even w the allergist because she is very cut and dry and focused on the anaphylactic only. It's rough. I may look into a naturopath soon like@Mrs.Someone: said.

We just did allergy testing this week. It isn't easy to see them get poked but the scratch test and additional testing is easier to deal with than elimination diets.

Oh no! I can relate. For about 10 months, I was on an elimination diet that was crazy. Dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, peanuts, corn. At one point, I was also off gluten, beef, and all legumes too. That was for food sensitivities. Then she had what seemed like an actual allergic reaction to kiwis of all things. We are lucky because she has outgrown all of the sensitivities finally. Still waiting for allergy tests for the kiwis. Good luck! I would see an allergist if you can, we did that and they verified that our LO had no true allergies to the things she was originally "sensitive" to. That helped alot.

I can totally relate. For months and months various symptoms were taunting me and it was so hard to figure out the exact triggers.
@charlotte: I am so glad you mentioned the behavioral/eczema issues! This is us with a bunch of intolerances. So technically he's not allergic but people look at me like I'm a crazy person if I try to explain what actually happens. -
I know what you're going through.
It's so hard to keep eliminating. And it's so scary when LO has a bad reaction. The pediatrician did a blood test and the allergist did skin testing but that was around age 1. Before that the food allergies were confirmed based on allergic reactions (hives, swelling, redness, itching) and only introducing one food at a time to see which caused a reaction.
It'll get easier. Hugs!
