just wanted to know if other mamas out in HB-land also use grandma/pacare
i've been working since DS was 12 weeks, 3 days in office, 2 days at home. my mom is our primary care and she comes over to our home and watches DS. which will likely be changing in a month or so. they're in the midst of moving closer to us/on my way to work so i'll probably drop him off there on my office days.
she is my sanity.

My mother watches N when I work. It helps that presently we live with them, but if we lived away I would just bring him here anyway.

I am kind of in this group...my son is turning 3 and when I returned to work this past February, we decided to put him in daycare part time so he could make some friends. We drop off our son at 6:30 in the morning at my parents house and they take him and pick him up from daycare. He stays there until we go pick him up, between 4 and 6 pm, depending on the schedule for the day.
My mom is a rockstar, she packs his lunch and makes him dinner, I have also been known to drop laundry off there and if they need to, they bring him to the doctor since some days I am 2 hours away. We eat dinner there at least 3 times a week.

My mom and FMIL watch LO one day each a week at our house. I love those days because I'm much more relaxed and I get so many updates about LOs day versus her daycare days! Plus we don't have to do drop off and pickup.
I'm very grateful for their help. FMIL and I get along fine, and I love getting to see my mom at least once a week.

when i was working my mom watched DS one day a week while i was in the office(i was part time WAH and part time WOH). and MIL watched him one day a week, every other week.

Yep! My mom has J 3 days a week and he goes to daycare 2 days a week. She's really good at going with what I want and is really flexible if I need to stay at work late. we're all VERY lucky.

We have Grandmacare as well..We are extremely lucky and I wouldn't change the situation for the world. We do pay Grandma though, since it technically is her "job" now.

I have grandma/grandpa care. I am so truly blessed. I am very close to my parents and love seeing them when I come home from work everyday. They love my son and really enjoy being with him. I know I'm in a spoiled situation though - they even come to my house! I couldn't be luckier!

Baby hasn't made her debut yet but my mom already changed her hours so she will care for baby one day a week and we'll do a combination of work at the office (daycare) and work at home the other days.

yes, I work four days in the office so I drop DD at grandma and grandpas in the mornings. my parents are retired and they LOVE watching DD. DD certainly feels the same way because she's always laughing and SQUEALING when she is there, even more than when she is with me!

I'm a WAHM and my mom comes over every weekday from 8a-4:30p to watch C at our house. I am REALLY appreciative and lucky, but it's sometimes hard being around her for 40 hours a week... it's definitely a unique situation since I'm here with her, instead of in an office!

My MIL has been watching my kids for the last 3 years. She used to watch them 5 days, but now that I am part-time, she comes over to our house 3 days a week.
As the kids get older, her "job" is easier. My older one goes to preschool from 9-12 daily, so she just needs to take care of my almost-2 year old. Both kids nap at 1 and wake up half a hour before I get home, so she really doesn't have to do much in the afternoon and gets a long stretch of break from 1 to 3:30p.
We are so fortunate to have her help and I am super happy with this arrangement!

N goes to daycare/preschool, but my MIL watches J. She's planning to watch him until he turns 1 since she doesn't feel comfortable with him in daycare at such a young age. It's a blessing because it'd be hard for me to put my baby in daycare too!

We have grandma care 2 days a week and it is a lifesaver! We love that LO is able to spend that much time with his grandmothers. Plus the one day a week that my mother watches L she comes to our house so those mornings are so much easier!
