I've been pretty vocal about my disappointment in not being able to breastfeed and having to exclusively pump, due to A's various mouth issues (tongue tie, high arch palate, etc).
But this morning, he finally did it! He has latched before, but this is the first time he stayed on without screaming/crying, and I heard him swallow! Several times!
Hallelujah!!
ETA: He's three weeks tomorrow.

Ok, so he did it again (yay!) but now he's sleeping and I'm leaking everywhere. Do I pump a little? Or just wait? This is all new to me ...

Yay yay yay! Don't know if you should pump or wait. Um. I guess wait in case he wants to try again when he wakes? Do you have something like a burp cloth or towel to catch the leaking milk?

@Smurfette: I used the hand pump quickly and got out almost 3 oz. I feel so much better! He was eating every 1.5 hours, but just 10 minutes in each side before he'd fall asleep again. I guess this is his long nap

Woohoo!! Congrats!! I remember the first time my boy latched after a few weeks of pumping... It was amazing he looked so happy

@aprk: nope. as soon as I was able to latch him I stopped pumping.
I was pumping because the latching was too painful for me, rather than because of LOs issues though
