@Mrs. Pickle: Thanks so much for this - we have heard good things about Dr. Roach but in the latest CDC reports they had ZERO live births in my age group (38-40) which is why we were a bit put off - especially if we are travelling all the way from Australia we want to make the best decision. Your results are amazing though. I think I'll call them and ask them my Qs. Thanks so much for taking time to reply.

@PurplePumps: thanks for your answer. You're right in terms of "severe" (was trying to explain to someone less familiar with the whole fertility process that we weren't at the IUI or IVF stage - those weren't even an option when we started our journey). We've done PICSI - not heard of IMSI so I'll look at it. I've read the CDC national stats - and you're right other states are better but we are just looking (at the moment) for best in Houston first given at least we have family to stay with etc. Thanks! @travellingbee: Awesome - thank you so much. I've seen Dr. McKnight has good reviews on FertilityIQ. I have already reached out to HoustonIVF though and have been less than impressed. I've asked what I consider pretty basic questions (e.g. Do you do OPU and ET 7 days a week; e.g. Do you ONLY do Day 5 transfers or is it at the Dr's discretion? etc) and they say I need to speak to a Dr. I'm going to call again tonight (midnight Fri my time - what an exciting social life i have ) hopefully I'll get someone a bit more informed. Thanks again!

@sydsun: I can tell you that they are there 7 days a week. Not sure about the other q's because I never got to IVF- only IUI, and got pregnant. I did at one point schedule a phone consult with McKnight so you might be able to do that.

@mrs.shinerbock: great - thanks so much for your first hand feedback on both Dr Hickman and the clinic. We are at the point (after having two different doctors already) that we don't even care about bedside manner - just results!!!

Hi, I've been a lurker for awhile, but I actually just had my transfer this morning at Houston IVF. They are definitely there seven days a week, and transfer day is up to the doctor's discretion. Depending on the quantity of of embryos, they will schedule you for a day three transfer and then reevaluate that morning. They were happy with the growth of mine, and we were then pushed to day five. Dr. McKnight was my doctor, but I also saw Dr. Nodler and McKenzie for occasional appointments. Heads up, this was Dr. McKenzie's last week with the practice though.

My ob/gyn recommended Houston IVF, and I later found out that two of my co-workers had their children through IVF there as well. Good luck!
