Just curious how long you can keep breastmilk in the fridge. Does it last longer than a week?

I usually keep mine 2 days, otherwise I just put it in a storage bag in the freezer. I'm trying to find the study but they did an experiment to see how long the antibodies in breastmilk were active for and I think it was about 2-3 days in the fridge and 6 hours at room temp.

they say up to 8 days, but it depends on how often you're opening your fridge. we open ours a ton so i freeze it after 2-3 days.

I never kept it in the fridge more than 3 days due to how often we open the fridge.

I heard a rule of 3s once. It's a bit conservative, but I stick by it:
3 hours at room temp
3 days in the refrigerator
3 months in the freezer
To me it's just easier to remember the one number.

Although it can be in the fridge for a bit longer, 2-3 days at the back of the fridge is optimal.
