So Medela says pumped breastmilk is good for 8 days, the CDC says 5.
Well i just started pumping, and today I tasted 6,5, and 4 day old milk and they all tasted spoiled to me. So I guess my milk only stays fresh for 3 days. I dumped about 12 oz out. I'm glad I tasted it though bc I would have kept trying to have DH give LO spoiled milk...

I've only let my milk stay in the fridge for 5 days but it tasted the same as day 1 to me.

i've only let it sit in the fridge for about 24-30 hrs at a time, but maybe try moving it to a colder area of the fridge (not near the door where it will be 'warmed' from time to time. also don't open the bottles too much? 
i'd just freeze it if i could!

Same. I think my milk starts to smell funky at 3 days. I know I've frozen some milk that might have been older than that so I have to remember to do smell checks when it comes time to thaw them.

It's on the bottom shelf of our fridge. Not the whole way at the back but not up front either.

Oh and I froze an ounce and tasted it thawed (it was fine) so I don't think it's a lipase issue. From here out I think I will freeze immediately.

We teach Mums that pumped milk is good for 3 days in the fridge. I wouldn't trust milk older than that.

I wouldn't trust more than 48 hours if freshly pumped in the fridge, and 24 hours from thawed. If the milk isn't being used within 24 hours I generally freeze it anyways.
