I drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and sometimes another or a soda in the evening. It has never affected my LO. I also make sure I drink enough water throughout te day.

1-2 servings a day. If you drank caffeine while pregnant your LO is less likely to be sensitive to it in your breast milk. Some days I have none and some days I have two full servings and I notice no difference in LO. When I asked my pedi what I shouldn't eat or drink while breastfeeding his answer was "gross amounts of alcohol, and that's it).

I have a coffee every morning, sometimes I'll have another latte in the late morning / early afternoon. I try not to have caffeine after 2pm...I think it affects me way more now!

"Medium" sized per day, once in awhile a large! Only issue I've noticed is when she knocks out for the night at 7, I'm wired til 11-12

A cup every day, and yesterday I had two! It didn't seem to affect L (he took a 3 hour nap!) but I felt much more awake.

I limit myself to 2 cups of coffee a day. I don't usually drink soda, and I drink unlimited tea. I've had it all along with no issues, I just try to have caffeine earlier in the day, rather than later.

I don't drink it every day, but it's because I don't want to go through the trouble of making coffee and we don't keep sodas in the house. It doesn't seem to affect LO though, so I don't worry too much about drinking too much.

My pediatrician told me that he tells BFing moms to not restrict themselves with anything (other than alcohol) until they notice it affecting the baby. THEN figure out what needs to be eliminated. This has definitely been the case for me and caffeine. Being a working mom of 2 I definitely need the caffeine boost, and my tolerance grows really easily, so I find myself drinking a cup of coffee then passing out right afterwards. Oops. That being said, LMW always falls asleep drinking her bottle so I know that if there's some amount of caffeine passing thru my milk into her, it's not affecting her sleep at all.
I have a large iced coffee in the morning (1 k-cup brewed through twice in the strongest setting into a big cup of ice), and either a couple of diet sodas or a cup of coffee or iced tea in the afternoon between 2-4pm to get me through til past the kids' bedtime. I try not to drink anything `an hour or so before pumping. But sometimes it's just necessary...!! I need something to get me started in the morning and something to boost me in the afternoon to have enough energy for the kids' bedtime. At least until LMW is sleeping thru the night and I can get my 8 uninterrupted hours each night again. Fingers crossed that is soon...!!!

I have a large coffee every morning on days I work and was told 1-2 a day was OK. My ped also told me not to restrict on anything (besides alcohol, which I pump and dump if I do have a glass or two of wine).

I tried to get through without coffee, but just couldn't do it. As a sleep-deprived, hormonal new mom, I *needed* my coffee to get me through. Thankfully, LO never appeared to be bothered by the amount of caffeine I consumed, but that may also be b/c I drank a small cup of coffee throughout my pregnancy, starting from the second trimester. Our pediatrician, like @mrs. wagon: said, told us not to restrict anything other than alcohol until LO was affected. I try to stick w/one large cup in the AM, but on especially challenging days, I need my diet Coke or small cup of coffee to get me through the afternoon!

i just started drinking one cup of coffee a day the past month. i've just been exhausted lately for some reason! i think one cup is fine... if you want that second cup, that's probably fine too.

I have a single latte daily and also did throughout my pregnancy. It is about 75 milligrams of caffeine. LO is 13 months and I have no reason to believe it had a negative impact on him.

I usually have two (home-brewed) cups of coffee a day, and it doesn't seem to affect DS at all. I drink water the rest of the day.

@sorrycharlie: hehe nice threadjack, and appropriate too! I brew one cup on the 2nd strongest setting (our Keurig has 5 settings), then I open it, shake the k-cup to redistribute the coffee grinds, put it back in and hit brew on the strongest setting. This is probably the same as brewing on the weakest setting, but I like to think that by re-distributing the coffee in the k-cup in the middle, I'm getting a little more caffeine
