Sorry I ask a lot of questions, but I'm a FTM, and our current ped (in the process of switching) isn't very informative, so I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing somedays That's where you ladies are a huge help! So, my question is, how much solids do you feed your baby at a time, when did you move to finger foods, etc. At LO 4 month check, the ped basically told me to start cereal once day, and move to twice a day when I felt the need, and we'd talk more about solids at her 6 month check. That's in a couple of weeks, but meanwhile, she didn't seem to like the cereal, but she was very interested in what we were eating. So I started her on purees, and she loved them. I started with very small servings once a day, and I just added a second meal. She eats about 1/2 of a plastic gerber container per meal, but is that enough? Are most babies eating a whole container? Do you just let them eat until they are full? It confuses me because she said to be sure that the solids are in *addition* to nursing, and not *replacing* a session. I'm afraid she'll get too full and won't want to nurse. But then, gerber sent me a thing in the mail saying for her age group she should be eating 3 servings of veggies, 3 servings of fruit, etc. per day and on 2nd stage foods. But the 2nd stage food containers are twice as big as the first stage! And do you feed your LO several different foods per meal? When do solids start to replace nursing? Am I the only one totally confused when it comes to balancing solids/breastfeeding?! Sorry for the bombarding with questions. I in need of some guidance obviously
