At almost every feeding, LO and I struggle for a good 5 minutes or more to get him to latch properly. He starts off like he's getting ready to chew a piece of gum before he's even on my nipple. Eventually he latches on but I wish there was an easier/faster way. The longer it takes, the more upset he gets. Any tips?

@oahujeni: My LC taught me a trick when I was having problems with LO's latch. Do the C hold around your breast but position your pointer finger & thumb at the skin just beyond your areola--thumb on top. Give a little squeeze, and tap your LO's mouth to get him to open wide (you can also mirror how wide you want him to open with your own mouth) and guide him to your areola, but make sure his mouth hits your thumb. It might take a few tries but it worked for me.
ETA: I don't know if how I explained it made any sense. I'm going to attach a blog post (with pictures of the process *nipples included*) that my LC sent me.
