So LMW is 5.5 months and exclusively breastfed (well, exclusively fed pumped milk in bottles) and for the past month or so, she only poops a couple of times a week. After she has a crazy throw-away-the-outfit explosion, she's happy for a day, and then gets cranky and crampy for two or three days until she explodes again. She does so well after she poops, but when she hasn't pooped in days, it's hard for her to fall asleep and stay asleep. She farts like crazy and it smells like death, but no poops!
We've tried everything we know of: cycling her legs, massaging her tummy, lots of tummy time, lots of vertical exersaucer time (this is usually when she poops), rectal thermometer, and even dressing her in her best outfits (inevitably this is when she poops....). Since Wagon Jr. had the opposite problem (pooped like 5 times a day at this age!) I am at a loss... what to do? nothing? Everything I read simply says "breastfed babies are rarely constipated." Do we just deal with the baby full of poo?
