You are far from the only one to do that. I've spilled more. I've spilled less. Each time there was a bit of an emotional meltdown.

Are you using a lubricant when you pump? It was painful for me as well until I started using something like EMAB's Natural Nipple Butter or Motherlove's Nipple Cream. I would put that one first and then pump so the friction wasn't quite as bad.

=( I totally cry over spilled milk. It's hard earned liquid gold! I even get upset if I didn't burp her properly and she spits up milk.

I put some lanolin on every time after I feed so when I pump there is some leftover on my nipple which helps from the friction of pumping. Try putting some on before pumping to see if that helps with the pain. =)

Good job with 4oz- try to focus on that!! You'll make more milk, it will be ok But you are normal to feel like that...

I almost cried over 5cc my first week home- my MIL helped me out by doing dishes, and accidentally washed a bottle with my entire pumping in it. It didn't look like much, but I had to go for a walk to not cry over it.

Even now I still try to get every darn drop out of the pumping gear, and I cringe when he won't finish a bottle and I have to dump it later on.

@BabyBoecksMom: PS- interesting thing since our babies are only about a week apart- I've been having a few new latching issues the last couple of days off and on too. Lets hope that Cam and Willa get over them soon- hang in there!
