After 20.5 months of BF it looks like DS is done.
He nursed like crazy on Thursday and then early Friday morning and has refused since then. I'm a tiny bit sad but happy that he made the choice to end this journey on his own.
But now my boobs hurt! Any advice on what to do? I've been hand expressing a bit a couple times a day just to relieve the pressure.

I know it sounds silly, but cabbage leaves are supposed to help you dry up/relieve discomfort! You can also drink peppermint tea to help speed things up. Congrats on nursing so long!!

Way to go mom!! I know exactly how you feel. DS is 18 months and a couple of weeks ago he stopped nursing out of the blue! My breasts are still a little sore. (although I'm pregnant so they may be tender because of that) haha.
Hope yours feel better! I've heard cold cabbage works wonders!

@ALV91711: sage tea is even stronger in its anti-lactating probability than peppermint so you might want to mix that in too.

@ALV91711: Agree with mint and sage tea recs, you can also chew on Ricolas. Also you could take sudafed or birth control pills as another option. Express milk if you're felling pretty uncomfortable or if you have sore hard lumps. Apply warmth to any sore lumps then express milk and massage the area. Otherwise use cold packs/ice.
