@Mrs. Polish: Thank you for keeping this thread going for so long! You definitely made this a HB tradition! Thank you!!
@Leialou: Yay for your DH's bonus!! Happy Dance for you!
@Shutterbug: Woohoo!
@FaithFertility: 14 tubes of blood? Wow, that's a lot.
As for my update, i'm not in the TWW, which is okay, but I think the DH wanted to try it one last time (naturally) before going starting our first IVF. I feel a little bad that I didn't give him that chance. I did tell him my fertile week was coming up. He and I had a misunderstanding on when my fertile week was up. He thought it was later and I just wasn't too eager about TTC this month. I know waiting this long for a baby has made not care about due dates, but I didn't really want a Dec baby. It's my fault, we should have BD this month. Also, as you all know, I'm more excited about starting IVF.
Anyway, we are both over it and now looking forward for AF to come so I can start BCPs and start our First IVF cycle. I'm excited.
AF should come next week. I think it should start around the 21st.

@bluestriped bee: Maybe your body knows it needed a break, I'm sorry your feeling this way, but know your sooo close to the new road! It is hard..... thinking of you!!!!

I'm sorry to be behind with this group. I'll have to read and reply later. Lots going on right now with career stuff and life! Surgery on Friday. I'm really feeling anxious due to the unknown of it all. I just want it done.
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@bluestriped bee: I completely understand where you're coming from. Sometimes you just need a break from timed BDing! SO much look on your IVF! I hope it's an even smoother process than you anticipate.

@Happygal: don't be sorry!!! thinking of you and I pray it is a smooth surgery with good results!!!!!

Had my progesterone bloodwork yesterday. Woke up today, 6DPO, with brown spotting. Never this early. Ugh.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@LindsayInNY: I know it sucks but as a positive your bloodwork will hopefully reflect that at 7DPO your progesterone has already dropped and it will help them to determine the best treatment. How sure are you of your O date this cycle?
bananas / 9229 posts
@mrswin: Yeah, sure of O. I temp/chart and use OPKs. I'm hoping the bloodwork shows something, anything...
eggplant / 11861 posts
@LindsayInNY: I hope you get the results quick, maybe implantation?? Or hopefully they as @mrswin said it will show something and get answers!!!! Since b/w was on a weekend when will you find out?
bananas / 9229 posts
@FaithFertility: Not sure. I got the bloodwork done right at the lab so not sure how long it takes them to get to my doctor? I'm not too optimistic about anything at this point. Ugh.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@Leialou: I haven't ever taken more than a month off of medication at a time since I started, but the two non-medicated cycles I had were pretty far off from my regular (pre-medication) cycles... the first one I ovulated like 4-5 days early, and the second one I ovulated a week late. Before meds my O day was like clockwork, within a day. I hope yours get back to normal soon so you're all set for your FET!

@faithfertility: whoa, that's a lot of tubes! I don't think I'd ever be able to give that much blood without feeling extremely exhausted or passing out immediately.
@happygal: FX that the surgery goes well.
@bluestripedbee: I'm glad you and DH were able to talk about it and ready for that new fresh start.
@lindsayinny: I hope you'll get speedy results from your lab work. FX for you.
As for my update, I'm waiting for AF to arrive after provera. I'm hoping AF won't arrive until the last week of March so that I can still go on my girls trip to the Big Easy.

had my CD11 RE visit today. I had a 13mm and a 14mm on the right side, nothing much on the left, so no different than on the lower dose. and my lining was only 5mm which worries me but they said they felt ok about going forward with it. based on my past cycles they think I'll be ready to trigger Wednesday (not making me come back in) for a Friday IUI. I don't know, not feeling super hopeful.
I also talked to the insurance woman at the RE's office and it sounds like they aren't expecting another IUI to get covered. since it's MA insurance they cover IVF, but like to cut to the chase so as of this year, you get 2 clomid/IUI cycles and then they want you to go to IVF and won't do FSH unless you didn't ovulate on clomid. I was lucky to get my 3rd IUI approved last year.
unfortunately we'll be moving before we could really make IVF happen, so this cycle is probably it for treatments before we start over in Texas, and who knows what our coverage will be then.
sorry for the novel. I'd like to believe this cycle will work out but right now I just feel down about it all.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@bhbee: Wow, that sucks about your insurance! I'm also in MA - I had 4 IUIs approved last year, but the finance person at the RE said that they (the ins company) really don't like you to do more than 4-5 before moving on. I hope this cycle works out for you... I have seen more than a few bees on here feeling very unhopeful about a treatment cycle and have it work out!
@LindsayInNY: well of course I hope that it's implantation spotting (has it stopped?) but even if it is pre-AF spotting, at least your test should indicate that and you can get the right treatment plan. Good luck, hope you get your results soon!

I already posted this on the IVF thread, but this morning I had 18 follicles and the biggest was 20mm! I'm waiting for the call, but I'm hoping it will be trigger tonight, ER on Wednesday! The frigging U/S this morning took forever (seriously, like 25 minutes) because there were so many follicles to measure.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Shutterbug: wow that's amazing for follicles! I hope this cycle is it for you! good luck with the retrieval.

@Mrs. Polish: thank you for getting us going and keeping things moving for so long. I hope you'll still check in here. Any new updates about your dogs?
@leialou: thanks for taking over! I'm glad to hear you're feeling more excited. That's great news that you have things covered and your savings can stay untouched! May will be here soon....
@shutterbug: whoah, a 25 minute wanding! That's got to be a record. Wednesday is retrieval day--big day! How are your emotions now? Is the different protocol what changed your estrogen, you think?
@BhBee: I'm sorry you're taking a Clomid beating. Are you feeling better? Have you been to the doctor yet today for your St. P's wanding? Let us know how it goes! Do you have a timeline for your upcoming big move?
@MrsWin: do you have lots of questions for your RE? Getting ready for IVF is an exciting step!
@BabyCanuck: good luck at your appointment! Sorry you couldn't get in there earlier--I know that's hard.
@LittleK: hope your "big bang" weekend went well and you don't suffer in the lonnnnnnng TWW.
@faithfertility: all I can say is daaaayyyyummmm. That's a lot of blood! I think just about everyone would pass out! When will you get results back? With all that blood, you're bound to come up with some answers!
@Mrs. Pinata: my period is usually on time, so when it was late for one cycle, I went to bed planning on POAS in the AM and feeling pretty sure I would see a BFP. Heartbreak. Has lovely AF shown up for you yet?
@leialou: I've never done a medicated cycle for IVF, so my drug intake was considerably less than yours. But after 7 months of taking some type of drug, I was curious about what my body was going to do on its own. I got EWCM a lot earlier, and may have ovulated a little earlier than usual, but nothing drastic.
@Bluestriped Bee: Another first time IVFer! This will be exciting to watch you guys start the process and be able to support each other.
@lindsayinNY: anymore spotting? That is pretty early! Maybe it's implantation spotting like @faithfertility said. Hope so!
@lazypanda: a girl's trip sounds like lots of fun. I had just a girl's night over the weekend and was so happy to drink wine and talk about all the girl stuff. I hope AF stays away for your trip as well!
bananas / 9229 posts
@Shutterbug: @happygal: It hasn't stopped. It's kinda on and off spotting/brown discharge. It'll appear in the morning and then nothing after really. Barely noticeable, if at all, when I wipe.
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@bhbee: I'm sorry. That totally stinks. I know insurance doesn't usually cover IVF, so is there ANY way you could do a cycle before moving? I would hate for you to lose that chance. Ugh. I hate how much waiting and planning, etc is necessary for treatment.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@bhbee: I live in Texas and my IVF cycles weren't covered. Would it be possible for you to do IVF before moving?
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Shutterbug: that sounds great! I know you must be uncomfortable with all those large follicles.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Leialou: @Mrs. Pinata: yeah I don't hold out much hope of having coverage in Texas, although maybe we could get some coverage on FSH cycles which I would be open to.
I think we just don't have enough time on IVF. I don't have another RE appt until Apr 16th and we are moving out between May 15-30 so I don't see how it will happen. but I plan to go talk to the RE at least and see what he says. I'd be interested to know if they would recommend FSH/IUI for us first, aside from the insurance issue.
part of me is hesitant to do IVF (especially out of pocket but even covered) because the RE couldn't really tell me IVF is more likely to work for me, with my unexplained repeat chemical pregnancies. it's going to be a hard decision if it comes to that.
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@bhbee: Yeah, I totally get that. You don't want to go through everything for IVF if it wouldn't "solve" the issues.
Good luck with everything. It looks like your next few months are going to be super busy!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@bhbee: us, Yes, it doesn't seem like you're at the IVF phase just yet! Sorry for typo--battling with my phone.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@LindsayInNY: Hope you get the results soon
@bhbee: Two follicles is good, it would be great if you can get in an IVF cycle before you move but I understand that your issue is not necessarily sperm meeting egg
@Shutterbug: Great update, ER will be here in no time
@lazypanda: Hope AF shows on time and doesn't mess with your trip
@Happygal: I have some questions for her tomorrow but I think the most important thing for us will be to have her explain the process, etc for SO

Just got back from RE. Official diagnosis is unexplained infertility. All tests were normal with exception of E2 which was slightly elevated. They said that it can mean that a few years from now I may have DOR or it may mean nothing. DH was in love with his SA results and had Dr repeat it several times, while DH had huge grin and all he can talk about is "his boys." We are looking to do IUI next cycle with 100 mg of clomid. RE gave us 85% chance of getting pregnant in the next few months. So, overall a very good meeting.

@bhbee: Sorry about insurance they suck!!!! Hoping for the best for you!!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Shutterbug: ohhh man that is awesome!!!! I pray your sticky baby is somewhere in those 18 follies
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Happygal: they said it could take a few weeks since we went to local quest diagnostic center...they are slow, but we opted to go there so insurance covered most of it!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@littlek: "his boys"....lol my RE once called my DH an Italian Stalin......hahah ;).
85% sounds amazing to me, can't wait to see your BFP soon!!!!!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@FaithFertility: insurance coverage is a good thing. I hope you get your results in quickly.
@littlek: that's great news! Moving to Clomid first sounds like a good initial step.
It's been quiet here this week! Let's see.....here's a question: do you have comfort foods?
I don't overeat when emotional, but I do crave carb, cheese-heavy foods: Mexican cheesy stuff, pizza, hot bread, pasta....needless to say, I've put a few pounds on with this whole IF stuff!
Any other updates?

I had my appointment today to check follicle size and I have 3. One is 15, one is 19 and I can't remember the size of the other. I'm triggering tonight at 8:30 for an 8:30 IUI on Friday. I am nervous for this shot tonight. The nurse drew a circle on my butt for DH. I thought it was fairly funny.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@MrsTal: that's awesome on the follicles! I am triggering tonight for Friday too. Let's hope it's a super lucky day!! I do the ovidrel trigger and it's no big deal but it's subq in the belly so you must have a different kind to be doing it back there? Good luck tonight!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@MrsTal: @BhBee: trigger twins! I don't remember seeing that before. @Bhbee: my trigger shot is in the belly as well.
Friday is a big day here: one lap, two IUIs!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Happygal: good luck to you on Friday too! I think it must be a good sign we are all in it together
clementine / 901 posts
@bhbee: Trigger buddies! I hope this is it for us and Friday is the lucky day! Did your RE recommend resting or taking it easy afterwards? Mine didn't say anything but I'm reading stuff online about people taking the day off. I was just planning on going into work but now I'm not sure.
@Happygal: I almost forgot about your lap! I can't believe it's already this far into March. I hope it goes really smoothly for you and you aren't to uncomfortable afterwards.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@MrsTal: I think you can go to work unless you have a strenuous job. Once before the nurse told me not to do any heavy lifting that day, other times they haven't mentioned it. And they usually want you to have sex that night too so you're not on pelvic rest or anything. They do have me stay laying down on the table with my knees up for 20 minutes after the procedure.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@bhbee: @MrsTal: thank you both!
@mrstal: I could have gone back to work that day, but I was glad to have the day off. There were so many emotions going on that morning, it was a relief to come back home and do nothing! It could be nice to also go back to work so you don't obsess over it. My RE had me lay on the table for 15 minutes afterwards, then I was good to go.
pomegranate / 3105 posts
I broke down again today with DH as he can't take the time off to come to my results appointment on Monday. I'm scared of what might be wrong, fear of the unknown. He can't handle emotions so the minute I started crying he got mad and walked out saying he doesn't know what to do.
