@mrswin: there was a slow increase in temps from CD 16-17, but more of a significant shift on CD 18. I'm just anxiously awaiting the news! I hope it's close enough!

@lazypanda: thanks! Yes, it's to confirm ovulation but I think she also is checking my progesterone levels too. She thinks I may have an ovulation or progesterone issue. I go in tomorrow morning, which thankfully I found a place open on Saturday morning!

I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend!

Hi ladies! Yay for Friday! I'm spending the evening watching Say Yes to the Dress with a bottle of wine!

My parents mentioned a family trip to the Grand Canyon in August but I'm really not happy with the timing (moving, insemination, DH shipping out). My SIL is also trying to dictate things about the trip which is annoying me. To be honest, I'm also dreading the trip with my 2 nieces because they are a nightmare! Forgive me for saying so (I love kids) but there are zero rules and no structure. We just spent last weekend with them and I thought my poor parents were going to snap. *sigh*

No real updates for me; discussing starting the inseminations in July vs August with DH. I'll be using clomid for the first time as well so I'm a little anxious! Lately I've been feeling emotional that DH could possibly miss the entire pregnancy including the birth, and that he won't feel emotionally connected bc of that. He swears that's not the case and if I gave birth before he got back, nothing would make him happier than us greeting him at his return. I think I'm just emotional in general lately.... So many built up feelings!

@FliegepilzHut: So excited that it's coming up so soon!! Im so excited for you and your DH!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: You've got some great travel plans coming up!! I'm jealous haha. It's a great way to pass the time during all these TWW.

@Sunshine1810: YES to pictures of the puppy! And thinking of you

@macintosh: I'm so happy the surgery went well! Sorry if you've already said, but what are your next steps?

@babycanuck: I'm glad you went ahead with the 2nd opinion! I hope you get some answers!

    @bluestriped bee:

    @PurplePumps: That's great news!! Whoohoo!

@lazypanda: Yay for getting in your HSG squeezed in!!

@Jenn23: That's great things are getting underway!

@mrswin: @Jenn23: That's great that you both are SO close!!!

@Kelli_Deluxe: I'm sorry you're going through so much right now. Your DH sounds like a peach, though!

Apparently "everything looks fine"-- I got my call earlier this afternoon and took my first FSH injection this evening.

A quick updated from me, cross-posted from the IVF thread.
I had my baseline ultrasound yesterday and my AFC was 15!! which is awesome because last time it was only 11. I got my schedule from the nurse today and I started BCP. I am expected to start stims on July 11th. I am excited to get this process started .

    @Jenn23: How are things going?

  7. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@Kelli_Deluxe: Sorry about the family trip stuff. I hope that your treatments work out and I'm sure that even if your DH isn't around because of the deployment he will still feel connected. I had a close family member in the same situation for both of her pregnancies!

So I'm back. Thanks for all of your support! So my beta on Thursday was I wasn't surprised. I had zero symptoms. I started spotting late yesterday and AF was definitely here today.

I'm following my younger sister on FF and her chart shows she is newly pregnant. She had a m/c 5 years ago and haven't been TTC for a while, but last Christmas she told me that they might be trying again soon. I thought I could get pregnant before her. Stupid IF! Shattered hopes and dreams, as always. I wish I could stop setting dates or people milestones to get pregnant by, but I know if I do, it will mean all hope is lost. Oh, the IF rollercoaster.
Trying to stay hopeful in that I will get pregnant in the next 2 IUIs I have left. Just a lot of pregnancy announcements and a lot of babies being born very recently. Waiting to see when it will be my time.

Just trying really hard to be positive. I will have my April baby! There's still hope.

  9. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@bluestriped bee: Oh I'm so sorry I hope you get your April baby too. You are planning to do 2 more IUI's right? Does your sister remember that you follow her?

  10. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@mrswin: Yup, 2 more IUIs are on my plan. I followed my sister on FF about a few years ago. I'm not sure if she remembers that I follow her. She's fairly active on FF so I know she follows a bunch of online people. So I don't think she knows I know. With her history of m/c, I'm sure she is very cautious in telling anyone. She is really supportive in my IF journey, though. I am happy for her.

@bluestriped bee: I'm so sorry about your negative. That's such a bummer! And that's tricky about your sister. Sigh. It's so hard when it seems like everyone else is getting pregnant so easily and you're not. Sending you hugs and wine!! And chocolate!!

@mrswin: yay for getting the green light to start! I'm excited for you!

@Kelli_Deluxe: I've got my FX that you'll get your rainbow baby. Your DH sounds very supportive of you!

@bluestriped bee: I'm sorry about the bfn & the timelines. I had the same thoughts as well with some of my friends where we started trying first & then when they decided to start 6 months after us, they got pregnant on the first try. Or what's worse is when some started trying after we've been trying for a year & bam, they got pregnant! Unfortunately, IF has been a huge kick in the ovaries for us. Good for you for continuing to maintain hope & also recognizing the need to be honest about the whole process. I hope all of us get our BFPs soon.

As for me, I've gotten sick and I'm trying to rest up so that I can enjoy my vacation in a few days! I was unable to make it to a friend's baby shower this weekend which might have actually been good for me considering how horrible I was feeling with news of another friend's pregnancy. I've got my HSG tomorrow & have been googling what I should be doing, I have extra strength Tylenol at home which is at 500 mg tablets. I'm wondering if I should go buy the 200mg tablets & take 3 of those as I was told to take 600mg of Advil/Tylenol/ibuprofen .

  14. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@lazypanda: I think you will need to pick up some ibuprofen. The Tylenol won't hurt anything...but probably won't help as much! !!! I hope it's relatively pain-free for you. Relax as much as you can and it should be over quickly!. Hope you feel better fast so you can really enjoy your vacation! PS: it sounds to me like serendipity that you didn't have to go to the shower!

@bluestriped bee: I'm so sorry. Do keep hope alive! You should have a good shot at pregnancy these next couple of months (and there are always other options...she said knowingly from IVF-land)... FX for you!!!

  15. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@Mrs. Pinata: Aww, thanks for the wine and chocolate!

@T.H.O.U.: Thanks. Yeah, looking forward to Disney. Still hoping that I'll be pregnant by that point and will need to figure out which rides are safe.

@lazypanda: Sorry about you getting sick. Good luck on your HSG tomorrow. I forget what dose I took before my procedure.

@FliegepilzHut: Thanks! We were considering IVF a few months ago but with my recent diagnosis they were hopeful that I would be successful with IUIs. I know with this recent BFN, I have a bit of doubt that the IUIs won't work, but I need to remember why we went back to IUIs. We are doing it to at least rule out IUIs. If we went with IVF after my diagnosis, we would always wonder if IUI were possible. So I can't get discouraged. This is what I wanted to do.

Just stopping by to say hi! I miss being on here as much but, honestly, I think the break is good for my soul. And sanity. We're still TTC the same, unproductive-thus-far way. I thought we might be able to do IUI this cycle but I likely would've been Oing July 3 or 4 and the RE is closed on the 4th (don't even get me started...). In the meantime, DH is finally getting the genetic enzyme testing done, for the 3rd time now. So, I hope there aren't any hurdles for next cycle... I'm kinda mentally over thinking about all of this lately and just letting things be...

@bluestriped bee: Glad you're back! It's so hard when close family members and friends get pregnant I definitely know what you mean by setting timelines by other people (e.g., "I'll definitely be pregnant when she has her 2nd baby"). Hang in there.

@bluestriped bee: Ugh I know you must be happy for your sister, but I know that it sucks all the same. I know what you mean about the timeline thing. Oh the games we play in our minds.

AFM, just got back from London last night. We had a great time, and I'm totally ready to move there! lol I might go back when I have some free time, because I think they have a RPL clinic there, that might be worth checking out. Then I can gorge myself at vegan restaurants again, and get some more shopping done DH actually came home with more clothes and and stuff than I did, lol.

AF started today, right on schedule. So...yeah. One month closer to getting that tattoo I suppose. And seeing the new RE if I don't get pregnant next month.

Only four follies for my AFC yesterday, so I didn't even come close to qualifying for the IVF study. So we'll have to go out of pocket and shell out $16,000 or more, so it was a hard blow. I only had 4 or 5 follicles 2 1/2 years ago for my AFC, yet got 13 eggs, so I'm hoping that will be the same again. Otherwise, our chances are pretty slim of having success. Feeling down about the news, but trying to be optimistic and hopeful that it will all work out. The IVF nurse yesterday called with my blood work and said that looked great and that she'll call today with my RE's instructions of how to proceed. I most likely will skip BCP like in the past and go right to stims.

@LindsayInNY: Missed seeing you around! Good to see you pop in!

@lazypanda: Good luck with your HSG today! I took 2 extra strength Advil before my procedure and it was all ok!

@LindsayInNY: Hi! I'm glad you stopped in. Sorry about the RE being closed on the 4th. I hope that your DH is able to get the testing done soon

  23. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@Jenn23: Sorry that your AFC was only 4 but on the plus side it is the same as 2.5 years ago which seems like a positive! I know I said this before but the AFC they were aiming for with that study makes no sense based on the age range..... ughhh.

  24. lazypanda

@FliegepilzHut: @bluestriped bee: @mrswin: thanks! I've been up since 6 am and still laying in bed reading through the HSG experiences on HB & Dr. Google. I'm a little nervous as this is the first RE appointment without DH. He couldn't take time off since we'll be flying out on Thursday morning & has been working extra hours for all the times he's taken off for our monitoring & IUI appts.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I'm excited to see your tattoo when it's completed! Will your DH get the matching koi?

@LindsayInNY: I hope your trip next weekend goes well & that you are able to get in some time with your DH away from your inlaws!

@Jenn23: FX that you'll get more than enough eggs despite having four follicles! Will you still be expecting/going through with a late July IVF even if you're not in the study?

  28. Jenn23

    persimmon / 1085 posts

@mrswin: I know, only the high AFC women in my age group will make it into the study. Well, I didn't mention it earlier but I actually failed the study requirements with two other things, too. So had my AFC been higher, I still wouldn't have made it in. I have a cyst that is too big for them to allow (which is pretty silly since the BCP they require for the study probably would have shrank it anyway) and my lining was a little over 5 and it has to be below 5. So all in all, I'm just not cut out for that study. lol

@lazypanda: I just heard from the IVF nurse and my protocol is to start stims right away four weeks from today (assuming cycle is on time) so my retrieval/transfer will be around the end of the first week of August. Thanks!

  29. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@Jenn23: Hahaha no kidding, that is one narrow minded study! LOL. Glad you have your schedule and your protocol will be one that you are familiar with...and worked last time

It's been crazy busy at work for the last few days so I'm having some trouble keeping up, but I actually had a 16.8mm follie on CD11 Friday (I thought it was 14 before) so triggered Saturday and had my IUI yesterday. TWW for me! Beta scheduled for the 7th if AF doesn't show up first. Maybe TMI, but I also had an insane amount of EWCM yesterday which is very unlike me, is that be due to the trigger?

  32. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

@PurplePumps: FX that this is your last IUI for this TTC period. Is it possible that you had other follicles and ovulating a second time? I know @happygal: had mentioned that she had ovulated twice even though they had only seen one follicle when she triggered on her first IUI BFP cycle.

  33. BSB

@lazypanda: my TWW is over. Onto cycle 24. I had my Day 2 ultrasound today and they found a cyst. They took blood to see where my estrogen levels were. I was afraid I would have to cancel this IUI because of the cyst, but I just heard back. E2 levels are ok! Proceeding with an IUI! Taking femera tomorrow. Day 9 ultrasound will be July 2nd! Maybe we'll have my IUI around on or before July 4th!

Thanks for updating the list! I love your lists.
