N breaks out in hives to a food yet to be determined. We meeting with the allergist at the end of the month. Throwing up after meals can be a huge flag for food allergies.

We suspect eggs for our 1 year old because of eczema.

Nut allergies were due to hives.

Dairy allergy took forever to get diagnosed (6 mo) because he would eat dairy every day, but wouldn't throw up every day. And he would throw up after meals without dairy. We cut it out and the vomitting stopped after a week or so.

We knew LO reacted to egg because of a rash at first introduction (and a few times since). She also had terrible eczema most of the time I BF. I suspected she was allergic to something but I only eliminated allergens a week at a time and I think she needed longer.

LO has reacted to shrimp/shellfish three times now with a rash & last time with a 'nose' complaint. She didn't react the first four or five times she had shrimp so we thought it was something else like MSG or hidden egg. Eventually I caught on that it was the shrimp and not some big mystery ingredient. We haven't been to see an allergist yet because LO gets a cold every time I make an appointment. I've been meaning to since October.

LO1 usually breaks out in hives around his mouth when he has an allergic reaction to eggs and diary. He goes into anaphylactic shock when he eat peanuts (coughing, difficulty breathing, drooling, throws up, breaks out in hives, etc). If he has too much red dye he will throw it up as well.

We're still trying to figure out LO2's reactions to his food allergies (the list continues to grow). So far we have experiences breaking out in hives due to skin contact, throwing up, swelling, and hives all over his body from eating an allergic food. His reaction time varies from immediate to 24 hours later.

Both kids also have ezcema. At around 3 months old their skin got progressively worse. I suspected food allergies and eliminated foods from my diet. Their skin improved afterwards. Both kids had blood work done to test for allergies and later a skin prick test done as well.
