Hi everyone!!! I felt your warm wishes with me all day. I will be back soon with more pictures and a full story, but long story short I got started on pit at 2 ml at 1 pm which was upped to 4 ml about an hour later. They had me at 6 ml for about a half an hour but turned it back down to 4 since it seemed to work well. That was all that I needed to jumpstart the process. Contractions picked up quickly, but I was disappointed when around 8:15 pm and I was only 3cm. I started to doubt my ability to do it without an epidural and even though it felt early, I got in the tub. While in the tub I had such strong contractions that I thought I might have the baby in the tub, but I didn't think there was any way I was that far along. They got me out of the tub to check me at 10:30ish and I was a ten. I began pushing and at 11:43 our baby boy was born, 8 lb 2 oz. unfortunately I felt pretty out of control with the pushing, and even though they told me to stop and slow down I couldn't. I have a third degree tear, my rectal sphinchter had to be repaired and serious hemmies, but I am doing well and baby (still no name) scored 9 on Apgars. Early am after we got settled in PP were rough--i passed out every time i tried to stand, but i finally used the bathroom today on my own (propped up by nurses, but still, progress!) We love him so much. Pictures and more details to come, but my DH and doula and amazing midwife and nurses couldn't have been a better team. I am so proud of myself that i was able to do this wirhout any pain meds even though I had to be induced and can't wait to soak in our new family.
