When I went back to work I bought an off brand breast flange/valve kit from amazon to have extras and both flanges have died. I had 3 flanges at work today and 2 of the 3 aren't working at all. Gah, I guess I'll single pump today.

@Pirouette: its like they are letting in air, they are making this really weird noise and I'm pumping nothing with them.

@jetsa: that sucks is this medela? i bought the offbrand replacement set for the PISA and sometimes have an issue getting the yellow piece (sorry, can never remember what's what haha) to line up properly when i pump so it gets suction...did you try moving that around...it's not that, right? I wish i could drop off some extra parts to you

there were a couple of times where i forgot a part at home. just one part, but couldn't properly pump without it. i hand expressed those days. that was messy and not terribly fun.

@Pirouette: yep it's the medela off brand. I'll try that I didn't know it mattered which direction the yellow thing faced.

@jetsa: I didn't either, but the instructions said to face it a certain way and for some reason it made a difference! i don't have the instructions but here's how mine line up (sorry, i just pumped so the bottle isn't clean haha)

@Pirouette: it worked. I can still hear a little air but its working great, thank you so much! ETA. now its making the noise again but milks coming out, wth. it sounds like a balloon you are letting the air out of.

@jetsa: hmm...well yay that milk is coming out!! maybe keep fiddling with it, and make sure the tubes are in fully, etc. as long as milk is coming out, that sounds like progress!

@Pirouette: definitely progess and this is the last pumping session for today so I'm just gonna toss them so I don't end up in this predicament again

@Pirouette: Holy crap, there's an orientation it has to be in???? I never knew that! I wonder if I would've gotten better output if mine was in the correct orientation (and looking at your picture, I know it wasn't)!!

I did not know that about the orientation!! I will have to look into it!
