@dookie32: Oh, I am so sorry. I am hoping so hard that you are one of those people who still gets a positive beta after a negative HPT! Will be thinking of you tomorrow while you wait for the official word.

@dookie32: oh no, I'm so sorry! I was really hoping that this was it for you!!

@dookie32: I'm sorry about the negative. I hear ya on just being numb. The first time, I was teary and so crushed. At this point I'm just like.... ok, so now what next.

@PurplePumps: Most hospital labs will do outpatient labs in the weekend. I'd call first. You might also be able to do day 1-2. I was told anytime in the first three days is fine.
AFM, I'm having ovulation cramping. Last night we BD'd in our new master bedroom amidst the dust. The funny thing is that 2.5 years ago, I remember insisting that we BD in our bed as opposed to being away for the weekend, because I wanted to conceive our child there. Since then, we have done it in so many places, IUIs, etc that I don't really care anymore. It would be cool to conceive in our new forever bedroom, and it would be so funny if God waited for that to happen now after everything we have been through.

@dookie32: Oh, no. Well I've never trusted night-time HPTs. I am truly hoping your blood test today is different. Stay strong. I think you still have some frozen embryos left, is that correct?

I have a question for you guys about meds: I got my initial list (which was called into Freedom, but I'm going to call around for other quotes) and I was surprised to see that there were 15 vials of Menopur (75 units/vial). Last time I did a fresh cycle, I only had 11 doses and then I only stimmed for 9 days, so I was bummed about the leftovers. I don't want to be left with SIX extra doses… does that seem like a lot? I definitely think I might only order 10 or 11 and then wait and see… Keep in mind I don't actually have my protocol yet from the RE, but has anyone ever taken more than 75 units of Menopur in a day? Why would they have me order 15?? Thanks!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@GreenThumb: I never understood the "quantity" of some of the meds, like menopur, that was listed on my prescription sheet. I actually took 225 of menopur. I remember that I used an entire little vial of the powder for each shot.
pear / 1986 posts
@agold: I know, maybe I just have to wait until I get my protocol to actually understand what they want me to do!! I'm just jumping the gun!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@GreenThumb: Well I totally understand wanting to cut to cost of meds if you can. I had some medicine left over from my mock cycle, so I cut my new med prescription for my FET in half. If I were you, I'd wait to get the protocol from my doctor. Your pharmacy can probably fed ex the meds to you so you can get them quick. Order what you want, and if you need more, you can call up and order the rest without having to bother your RE for a new prescription.
cherry / 120 posts
@GreenThumb: I actually started at 75iu of menopur and by the end was at 300iu. I hear you on the extra, it's annoying but I'd rather have more than not enough....my nurse would call in the afternoon with new dosing instructions so it would have been impossible to order more.
pear / 1986 posts
@agold: That's true - as long as the prescription is there, I can put another order in. I am really going to need to keep myself busy for these 4 weeks of BCPs or I'm going to go a little nuts . Gotta be more go with the flow….
@Mrs. Pinky: I know, I'm getting ahead of myself. How are you doing?
cherry / 120 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: thank you! It actually got moved to tomorrow morning (day6) to see if the three that are progressing can get to blastocyst or further?? I'm not too sure but hoping it's a good sign...
Does anyone else have any good experiences day 6 blasties?

Thank you all for your support. Official word is unfortunately negative. I kept hoping I would be one of those internet stories of the people that get a negative HPT and then a positive beta but I should know I'm not that lucky :). 2015 has been such an awful year (even outside of the infertility stuff) so I should have been prepared for nothing good to happen. I think I'm most disappointed because getting pregnant part hasn't really been my issue so I maybe naively thought this would be the "easy" part for me. When I went to wake up my son today it hit me that there is a chance that I will never have another baby and I cried a lot. I know I'm luckier than most that I have him but he's not meant to be an only child :). All of this is just so unfair- I know you ladies understand where I'm coming from. Right now I just want to be sad for a few days, drink some wine and enjoy the break from all these stupid drugs. I haven't eaten all day because I've been so upset so I think I might go get a Creme Brulee Latte from Starbucks for lunch- trying to look at the positives :).
We do have 3 PGS tested embryos left. When we had met with my RE the last time we had talked about the possibility of this ERA test if it the transfer failed. I spoke with the nurse briefly about it and it's basically a mock cycle (not sure if this is similar to what a few of you guys did- agold?) to find out if they are transferring on the most optimal day. So I would take the drugs and then they would do a biopsy instead of the transfer on Day 6. At this point I feel like there's no reason not to do it- I don't plan on doing another retrieval (we couldn't afford to do PGS again) so we have to really be careful with the embryos we have left. Has anyone heard of this ERA test before? I know it's fairly new.
apricot / 365 posts
@dookie32: I'm so sorry definitely get where you're coming from. I feel like DD is just meant to be a big sister somehow.
I don't know too much about the ERA test. I think we're going to try one more cycle on the usual protocol and then consider it (we also have 3 frosties left, but not off the highest quality :/, and don't plan on another retrieval). our doc was kind of on the fence about it, but says we should consider it if we have another failed cycle.
apricot / 365 posts
@GreenThumb and @AGold
Thanks for the biopsy info. We're debating whether to do it before the next cycle (if we don't do it this time, would definitely do it on the one after that). I definitely plan to take ibuprofen beforehand (but would love the valium option, too ;)--I do have one that's supposed to be for my next transfer :p). The dr described it as 30 seconds of excruciating pain and then 30 minutes of strong cramping. Nurse said more like 15 seconds (the way she said it seemed like she had it done, and she's due next week--wonder if she used this clinic or a different one!!).
@GreenThumb: I know my menopur was upped during our retrieval cycle to 2 vials of the powder (I started on one, but must not have been responding how they wanted), so we ended up having to order refills

@dookie32: I am so sorry to hear this news. I've had that same feeling about my daughter, so happy to have her, but so sad to think about not being able to give her a sibling. Take care of yourself - definitely make a Starbucks run - today, tomorrow, and the next day if you need to!
One of the REs we consulted with also suggested doing a mock cycle before doing another transfer. We are seeing a different RE (who did not recommend that), but I think @agold: just did a mock cycle, so she may have some good insight.
pear / 1881 posts
@GreenThumb: I started with 75ui of meds, but then they upped it towards 150iu/day towards the end. I believe that I stimmed for 11 days, including day of trigger. I ended up getting some donated to me from @dookie32: and my clinic. I would probably just order what they say, unless you have easy access to buy more the day of any change in your dosage (if needed)...
@dookie32: I'm so sorry!!! This is my fear too and I know that my daughter would be the best big sister. We will be devastated if we cannot give her a sibling..Go ahead and treat yourself to the Crème Brulee Latte (if you haven't already!). You deserve it..
pear / 1986 posts
@NorthStar: @endymion4: Thank you for your thoughts on the Menopur, I'm just getting ahead of myself. I'm sure they have it all figured out at my doc's office, right?! I'm not the expert here (I need to keep telling myself).
@endymion4: As far as the biopsy goes, I would say go for it! In the scheme of things, it is just one more thing to check off the list. Did your RE recommend it for the "scratch/improved implantation" reason? Mine wasn't so much for that since I wasn't doing a transfer in conjunction with it, but to test for any infections, specifically endometritis, which I had never heard of before. It came back clear, but otherwise I think they would have given me a course of antibiotics.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@Mrs. Pinky: I did a fresh transfer of my best two embryos on day 5. My doctor said they were pre-blast stage. So maybe they were morulas? Anyhow.. he waited until day 6 to freeze whatever he could. I ended up with two blastocysts. So the frozen two ended up better than the fresh two. I hope you get up with some great embryos! How many do you have right now?
@dookie32: I'm so sorry about the negative blood test. Yes, it is all so unfair. You should run out right now and get that starbucks you want. And squeeze your little boy. And focus on the three frozen embryos that you have. Three more excellent chances a head of you! And yes, I say you should do the biopsy. I had one done, although I'm not sure if I did the ERA test that you specifically mentioned. Mine cost a little over $1,000 and I have no regrets.

I have a question for anyone who has had a successful IVF cycle.... I am currently 6dp5dt and I have no symptoms that I can't explain away as a side affect of my estrogen and progesterone I am on and my beta is scheduled for Monday. I have a tingling feeling in my boobs that feels like a lightning bolt shooting through my breast and out my nipples, then I have some occasional cramping, mostly yesterday and the day before, I have lots of white CM. (sorry for tmi) Other than that... nothing. But those can be explained with the progesterone. I haven't had any extra fatigue (other than what I expect from quitting my caffeine addiction) I have had no nausea etc. I didn't have any with my previous pregnancies either, but that was 10 years ago! Has anyone else been this nervous over NOT feeling bad??
persimmon / 1132 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: Wow, that's so cool about all of the signs and symbols you have with this IUI. Really hoping this is it for you!
@GreenThumb: Congrats on getting to start BCPs and get your list of meds. I would hesitate to order all of that Menopur, too, if I were in your shoes. However, I'd wait for the protocol especially since you're with a new RE.
@dookie32: I'm so sorry this embie wasn't your take-home baby. This process is so hard. There's nothing in life that is analogous to it! Take all of the time you need to be sad and process and grieve and feel yourself again after all of the drugs. Sending love and hugs and hoping you get all of the support in the world.
@fotolori1: I have not had a transfer yet so I can't weigh in on symptoms, though I can commiserate with all the symptoms from my own body's progesterone has tricked me with on natural cycles (always BFNs). I think when I get to transfer, I'll test early like you plan to. I'll believe it when I see the those two lines (and likely after seeing them on five tests!). Keeping everything crossed for you!
@agold: Your transfer is coming up soon. Hope you're feeling well! I remember you saying that your AFs after IUIs came so late. What did the labs and u/s reveal? Did you take meds or did they just come naturally, in the end?
I'm on CD 38. So annoying that the meds did this to me. I'm going to see what acupuncuture can do to me next week and I will call the RE. Something tells me it's all happening down there, but taking precious time. Maybe I'll start BCPs right away once it starts. I'm so tired of waiting.
ETA: And literally just after I clicked submit, AF arrived. Usually I feel tons of cramps beforehand, but I guess for now this is the new normal. I'll take it! Now I think maybe I should wait until my next cycle to start BCPs. Or maybe not. Ugh. I don't know what to do at the moment.
pear / 1881 posts
@Amorini: I'm so glad that AF showed up for you! Isn't that how it normally is? You do something (like POAS) and it shows up?! Onward onto your FET!
@fotolori1: I hear you on the no symptoms front! I am 5dp5dt. I've had a little bit of cramping, but nothing that is out of the ordinary or could just be in my head. When is your beta? I have mine Wednesday, but will test on Tuesday..I'm super nervous, but my friends keep reminding me that I had no symptoms with my daughter too. It's just now that we are super in tune with our bodies and what is going on that we look for every sign we can. Good luck in the next few days
cherry / 107 posts
@dookie32: Sorry to hear about the negative. That sucks:(
@NorthStar: Good luck!
@GreenThumb: I'm scheduled to start my first IVF with 225IU per day of Menopur (3 vials) with the option to increase from there if needed. I have very low AMH and they expect me not to respond well to the meds because of this. They likely have a reason. If you have concerns I'd call and ask them why they have you ordering what seems like so many extra doses. Explain your concerns and see what they say. Then make your decision.
I have my repeat antral follicle count on Monday to see if they can find my other ovary. DH and I will also sign our consent forms then and turn our tentative January IVF dates into real ones!! DH has also decided to try and wean off of his Effexor to see if we can increase our odds of a successful mTESE sperm retrieval in January. He's moved down from 150 mg/day to 75 mg and just a few days ago began 37.5 mg. Except for the first few days after moving down a level it seems to be going ok. Those few days are rough though, poor guy .

Transferred one pretty embryo this morning! It was already starting to hatch The dr said it was a AB grade we may have one to freeze but won't know until Monday. My clinic tests the beta 18 days post transfer, so that will be dec 4th
@Aqualov: Yay! Jan will be here before you know it!
ETA: I meant 18 days post retrieval...
@northstar: good luck! And you too @fotoliri1!

@northstar and @mrs.pinky I am so hopeful for all of us. I just left a friends gender reveal and I cried twice! I am so sad that it's not me. Happy for her, but sad for me. I hope this is OUR month! @mrs.pinky, starting to hatch is awesome!!!! Do you have an embryo pic?? I would love to see it!
nectarine / 2192 posts
@Mrs. Pinky: Awesome! 18 days after transfer seems like a really long time to wait. Hope this is it for you!

@fotolori1: they gave me a pic but it definitely wasn't the picture they had on the screen just prior to the transfer...I should have taken a pic of the screen!!! I'll post a pic of the pic I have though!
@ameliabedilia: I goofed. It's 18 days post retrieval but still feel like an eternity.

What a beautiful little embryo! Was the pic on the screen different?? It amazes me to think of something like that turning into a little person!

I just want to say.... PLEASE PRAY! 1st Beta is tomorrow to see if one of our 2 embryos stuck! I am terrified!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@GreenThumb: Terrible. Really struggling being stuck here, bloods tomorrow but I fear still pregnant, and if I have to see one more person with an announcement, I may lose my marbles. Ended up back on low-dose anti anxiety meds because this never ending miscarriage has just been awful. And worst of all... I'm almost at the Christmas date cut-off for more cycles this year.
pear / 1881 posts
@fotolori1: Good luck!! We are in dire need of a on this board!!! Have you POAS?
@jaguar: I'm praying for you and hope that you received some good news from your blood test. This is no fair and I hope that you can get in before the end of the year.
We have our beta on Wednesday and I'm tempted to test tomorrow. I felt the most intense pinch ever yesterday at 6dp5dt that it took my breath away. I am hoping it means good things
persimmon / 1132 posts
@fotolori1: Thinking of you and hoping so hard for a !!!
@NorthStar: Good luck! I think the BFP odds are in your and fotolori1's favor! Hope all of your signs are the real thing.
@jaguar: So sorry this hell is still happening for you. Hope your results come back at zero so you can have closure.
I asked my RE if I can start to prepare for FET now. While another month might not hurt, I feel fine and I don't think it's going to change anything. Also, I don't want anymore suspense about if I'll need another fresh cycle. I'd rather know sooner than later. Based on my interactions with the nurse this morning, it sounds like a maybe (to start FET prep) at the moment. They may want me to have another u/s to make sure the cysts and enlarged ovaries are resolved. I will hear back later today. For more reasons than one, I'm hoping for an all clear and to avoid yet another hurdle and more annoying waiting...
