Sitting in the waiting room at my clinic. My heart is racing! 11 months we've been planning for this and I'm so worried we won't be able to do it for some reason! Someone come call my name already... Can't stand the waiting!

Got great news!! First tech couldn't find ANY follicles. Made me get dressed and go down the hall to the non-IVF side of the clinic to have another tech (guess she is the most experienced?) do an ultrasound. Well, luckily she found four on each ovary!! For me that is awesome! Only had 5 in 2012 and only 4 last month at my baseline. So we are super happy about that. Anyway, I picked up my meds and I'll get started as soon as I get the go-ahead call once my blood tests are in this afternoon. 3 Bravelle and 1 Menopur in AM and the same in the PM. Here we go!!!!!

Thanks! Just did our 1st shot!! Luckily, my husband is working from home today so he did it for me. I didn't feel any burn from the menopur, but I'm wondering if that is because it was mixed with the bravelle? I did ice it for 5 minutes first. Anyway, one down, a bunch to go. Feels good to finally get going!!

The ER went well today, the prelim count was 17 eggs retrieved but they will let me know how many were actually mature and how many fertilized. The procedure wasn't too bad overall, moderate discomfort and some serious pinching during the extraction. It took less that 15 minutes for the whole procedure

@swedishfish: Yep, they only use twilight sedation for ER's so I had an IV and they gave me a mild sedative and something for the pain. They talked to me and my SO through the whole procedure. I guess this isn't common based on the response on the IF thread from some of the other ladies

@mrswin: nope. I remember my RE telling me to put my legs up like I was riding a horse. I told him I'd never ridden a horse and he was incredulous. Then I woke up in the recovery room. Haha. Are they calling you tomorrow with a fertilization report?

@Jenn23: Nice job on your first shot! Not sure about the stinging-- I did four vials per Menopur injection this cycle, and it definitely did sting a little bit. I didn't ice though, I'm lazy. :). You're on your way!
I trigger tonight, with my retrieval on Thursday. So happy to be at this point again. My right ovary was a little behind, so they only counted 9 mature- sized follicles total today. But in the end, I only need one, if it's a good one!
Plus, my RE will be on duty on my retrieval day, so it'll be good to have him doing my procedure personally. Fingers crossed!

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Good luck tomorrow. I guess I just assumed that all clinics did ER the same way but it seems like the process my clinic uses is not the norm. My RE would like to try for a day-5 transfer (Sunday) so that is the plan for now but depending on how thing are looking we could get called to do a day-3 transfer (Friday).

@mrswin: I think with 11 embryos you'll definitely end up doing day 5. Nice that is lands on a Sunday so you can just rest all day after!

@GreenThumb: Absolutely no idea...it's what the they instructed the day of my ET, though. Maybe it's to get a clearer idea of how the little guy(s) is(are) doing in there (longer term monitoring). Or maybe it's a form of slow torture...

3 injections done! Feeling a little out of it today. Wonder if the hormones are already affecting me. Feel a little spacey, sleepy and just off. But not too bad. So excited for everyone on here! So many IVF's going on right now!!

@Jenn23: glad your moving along well with your injections. Get some good rest!As for me, ER went good today. Got the good meds and had a nice sleep. Unfortunately I was a little out of it when my doctor told me my numbers so I can't remember how many were mature and how many they were still watching so I am trying to just be patient and wait for the fertilization report tomorrow. I know he got 22 out total, but i know it wasn't anywhere close to that how many were mature because we knew there were a lot of small ones that showed up late. I'll update you guys when I know more. As for the fluid in my uterus, it was gone today but we are going to wait and see how many good embryos I have before deciding what to do. If we only have a few good ones we will probably put off my transfer until we have a perfect uterus month. Only time will tell! For now, enjoying my lazy day resting and having my husband wait on me.;) Gonna milk it for all its worth! haha.
