If anyone has a Lands End backpack for their child, what size do you have? My daughter is starting full day kindergarten and will need room for a lunch box in her bag. She is about 46β tall and I canβt figure out if the small or medium would be the best size.

Small Classmate. My daughter used it for K last year and will use it for 1st and probably 2nd. It has held up amazingly. It holds all of her K paperwork and folders, her lunch bag, 2 water bottles and a change of clothes comfortably. I LOVE this bag and tell everyone to get it.

I think we did the Small Classmate as well for Pre-K and Kindergarten. It held up great for those two years. It is starting to look worn, so we bought a PBk one this time, but I can already tell that I like the Lands End backpacks better. I felt like the small size was plenty big for her lunch box, water bottle, folder, change of clothes, shoes, etc.

@SLR: another option is that you can order both and return the one that doesn't work? I believe I did that and you can actually return it to a Sears store (if you don't have a Lands End near you).

We had to be able to fit a folder so we got medium, and it was pretty big. We've also used it for travel and other things so I don't really regret it but I bet small would have been ok. Dd is going into her second year of using it and it has held up like new!!
