If you did BLW, when did your baby start to chew bites of food instead of sucking on it? DS is 8.5 months old and we've been doing BLW since he was 6 months. He loves sucking on foods and tasting them, but he hasn't really started to chew yet. He will bite off chunks of food, but he just spits them out if they're too big to swallow.

Having the same issue here, except if E gets a chunk in her mouth that she can't spit out, she vomits everywhere

This is really interesting to me. We started with purees, and switched to pieces of table food about a week ago at 7.5 months because she was starting to try to chew the purees. I mean, she doesn't have molars- just front teeth, but she kind of mashes it on the side, moves it around, and makes chewing motions. I still give her pieces small enough for her to swallow whole though- she mostly just mushes it up until its soft and swallows it. It probably just varies by baby?
