(How) does your LO drink water?
My LO thinks the sippy cup is a fun fun toy. He only drinks from a cup--so I have to very carefully hold it for him. It's hilarious. He is 6 months.

LO started drinking water from a Zoli straw cup at 6 months. She loves water!

@autumnlove: How different is that from a straw in a regular cup? I haven't tried a straw yet.

We just give him random sips from our water bottle or cup so far. 6 months.

@pastemoo: The straw on the Zoli is soft and leak resistant! It is attached to the cup so don't need to worry about it falling out.

A straw sippie cup is on my to-buy list. My guy hasn't figured out how to tip up the sippie cup yet, so I have to hold it up for him. I'd like to see what he can do with the straw-sippie.
I voted sippie and cup, as currently we are giving him water in both of these forms, but not a lot of water. I just really wanted to figure out if there was some other way he could drink since he was a bottle-rejecter, so that's when I started giving the sippie cups of water.
He's 7 months old. I'm still not entirely sure how much water he 'should' be getting.

He uses a straw sippy cup. He can drink from a real straw if I forget his sippy, though. He's 7 months.

My 16 month old has tried a bunch of straw and sippy cups... but she does really well with just a regular cup (with close supervision of course).

@pastemoo: a little bit but I have a little straw cleaner!

He started with open cup, figured out the straw by about 12 months, and can drink out of my camelbak no problem. His preference is for a regular cup though.

He drinks water out of a sippy cup, but we have to help lift it for him. He loves cold water!

DS doesn't like water (he's 8 months) so I have to trick him into it by offering it in a variety of cups. I can usually get about 3 sips in per meal by giving it in an adult cup, with a straw, with a sippy, etc...

I taught my 7 m.o. how to drink from a cup too! I think it's so funny how he just figured it out; but I do have to hold it for him too.

At around 6 months I started offering her a straw cup with food. She just played with it for a long time. Maybe at 8 months she finally figured it out, and then she started drinking a good bit. Maybe a cup a day?
We also taught a sign for 'water' early on. It's hugely useful, because she'll make the sign all the time when I'd not have thought to give her water. Now at 14 months she can just say water, too, which makes things really easy.
