@pui: Holy cow, that IS a temp spike!! FX!

So yesterday's OPK was thisclose to being positive at night. Not sure how tonight's will look. Usually they go back to obviously negative post-O (like white, not faint). No temp change this morning though. I'm anticipating an O date sometime this week though!

okay, it's cd 35 for me still without AF and I've gotten 5 bfns I'm pretty sure I'm a roll over just having a really long cycle (first cycle off bcp, so it being wacky I guess is normal, even though I've never had long/irregular cycles). how often do you all poas if you're having a longer cycle than usual?

  4. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@nana87: Are you temping or using OPKs? In other words, do you know when/if you ovulated?

You are probably just having a weird cycle because of coming off BCP. If you don't know when/if you ovulated, I suggest testing once a week until you get a BFP or AF.

    cantaloupe / 6171 posts

@pui: no, I didn't want to temp or use opts this month bc I thought it'd make me too anxious. turns out having a long cycle and not knowing if/when I ovulated makes me way more anxious!

  6. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@nana87: It really is doomed if you do, doomed if you don't with TTC lol. My cycle has been so long and temping has made it frustrating, but last cycle was long too and it was frustrating not knowing what was going on!

Yeah in that case just POAS once a week until you either see AF or a BFP! It's not over until AF arrives!

@nana87: I know what you mean about not knowing being more stressful! This was our "relax and have fun" month but now that I am waiting for AF, I really wish I knew when I ovulated!

@nana87: I was POAS once a week when my cycles were long. But when you're talking 40+ and 60+ days, it gets annoying! My cycles *just* started to normalize (I think, FX!).

@RLCeigh: Hope you got some tests! I just ordered mine from Amazon. I'm sure I won't be able to resist testing early.

@T.H.O.U.: Thanks!! I'm thisclose so I did two yesterday - am and pm. I'm fearful that tonight's may have missed it but I'm temping too so that will help. And we're BDing either way!

@T.H.O.U: I did go to CVS during lunch (it's just across the street). I forgot how expensive these suckers are-- I should totally order on Amazon from now on.
I think our first little ones are similar ages-- here's hoping to a close to 2 1/2 year age difference!
    Good luck.

@RLCeigh: Yup, mine is about 21 months now! I would be happy with this age gap for sure.

I ordered a pack of 50 from Amazon for $19. I really hope I never in my life need 50 but at least I have them or can pass them on!

@Mrsk: I'm sorry you're a rollover, lady. Hoping that June is your month. And I agree, the first day the empty charts are the worst. After a bad month, though, like my few with 50 day cycles, I sorta found them refreshing, too...a good clean slate to start over with. SO hoping yours fills up with BFPs soon!

I'm a rollover, stink but I knew our timing was really off. And AF came on her own! And it was only a 40 day cycle! Possible O date around our anniversary (1st of June) so that's exciting

So I thought Sunday night's OPK was positive. Last night's was dark too but DH and I decided it wasn't AS dark as Sunday's. But, no temp rise yet. The past two cycles, I've had a temp rise 2 days after getting a + OPK. And usually once I get a + OPK, they're clearly negative afterwards. So not sure what's going on now. We BD the past three days so I kinda want a night off (it's tiring!) but I don't want to miss O either.

  20. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@LindsayInNYC: I think next cycle I am going to invest in a few digital OPKs and use them when I think I see a positive, so that I can be sure. Regular OPKs are annoying to read at times.

  21. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@pui: The last two cycles have been fairly easy to read but this one is harder!

  22. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@LindsayInNYC: My OPKs are weird and inconsistent lol. They sometimes get very very very close to a positive, but definitely still negative and then the next day they are completely negative lol.

I think I am going to stop messing with OPKs this cycle and just temp for the rest of it... I'm still not sure if I actually O'd on CD46, but in any case I'm probably close to AF by now.

  23. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@pui: I figure the temp is my default option since there's no way around a temp rise post-O. Just have to wait and see now! If it's going to be another couple days, I'll take tonight off from BDing but if O is close by, I'll force DH to keep going...

  24. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@LindsayInNYC: We've BD 5 days in a row, so I think we'll take a break today lol. On the bright side, if I did O, we timed sex perfectly.

  25. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@pui: We're at 3 days in a row and I'm tired and sore, LOL! I was just looking at my charts, my temps have been a little higher this cycle than the past 2. I don't know if any of that is season/weather related or what.

@pui: @LindsayInNYC: wow you ladies have dtd more times in a week then we do in a month sometimes two months Sex will never be the same after ttc, smh. I told dh the other day I just wanted to have fun sex & not forced sex but to much pressure has been put on sex *period* that fun sex doesn't even sound like fun.

I hope all of your bd pays off!

  27. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@Sugar.Biscuit: Trust me, it's not normally like this!! Truthfully, it hasn't been since the initial honeymoon phase! Once we moved in together, it's been a lot "calmer." Usually once or twice a week. We've just kicked it up a notch to try and get a BFP now.

Oh man, totally understand @pui @lindsayinnyc!! Last cycle we BD 7 days in a row. The worst part is that we should have kept going in order to really catch O but I was misunderstanding the timing hahaha.

Do we have an updated list for this group?

Who is up next? I am not scheduled until Friday, but my tests coming tomorrow may tempt me sooner.

I am really starting to dislike my progestrone pills. Every month I get S&S of pregnacy. Nausea, sore & gigantic boobs, pelvic twinges, mood swings... really messes with your head!

@pui: @LindsayInNYC: how do you ladies only poas once a week? I'm the worst, so dang impatient!

  32. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@nana87: I try my best to only POAS when my period is due (so at least 13 days after my O)... mostly because then there is 1) less time before AF if it's negative and 2) less anxiety overall.

To accomplish this, I keep only one test in the house at a time. Having your husband hide the tests is also a good solution lol.

  33. nana87

    cantaloupe / 6171 posts

@pui: I definitely tested too early this time--I was convinced I was pregnant because I thought I was having symptoms, turns out I'm pretty sure I was just sick, lol...But then this has been an unusually busy couple weeks for us socially, and I've kept testing when we have plans that involve drinking (i.e., my dad was in town for a few days and he's a big wine drinker, so it would have been really obvious not to have a glass with him...). So I just keep testing and getting let down

  34. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@nana87: Yeeeah... I also try my darnedest to not symptom spot too because that always makes me feel like I am crazy when it turns out I wasn't pregnant anyway lol!!

  35. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@nana87: My cycles have been all over the place and without any real symptoms (plus working a ton), it's a little easier to hold out until the weekend. Maybe if I had some symptoms, it would be different?

@mrs. 64: haha I'm glad I'm not alone I just made the switch from digitals to wondfos so at least it's not quite as expensive!
