We didnt do mesh feeders with DD, I made her baby food by pureeing veggies and fruits and freezing it using the mumi and bubi ice cube trays. DS is 5 months now and I am gathering all the tools I will need to start feeding him solids once he turns 6 months! I keep seeing these mesh feeders everywhere, did you use one? Was it beneficial and was it tough to clean? If you liked it what kind of food did you put inside

We got two kinds and only used them once or twice. There is a silicone one that's machine washable

Go for the silicone ones that look like a giant pacifier. Much easier to keep clean

I had two and used them once or twice... they were a pain to clean! (No dishwasher)

I thought they were too messy and difficult to clean. We did, however, use them when she was teething. I froze little portions of breastmilk and put them in the feeders for her to suck/chew on.

I used the silicone and mesh with DD1; I liked it! We did BLW but would put purée in the silicone one, and fruits in the mesh. Plan to use them again with DD2

The silicone one for sure. It wasn't hard to clean at all.

Never tried the silicone ones because my experience with the original mesh ones was so bad.

I didn't know about the silicone ones for DD1 and we used the mesh ones a TON. I put fruits that were choking hazards in them and she loved it, especially during teething. Apple slices, halved frozen grapes, frozen mixed berries, etc. you have to rinse them immediately after using in order to keep them from being disgusting though. If they sat out for any length of time they would get crusty and impossible to clean.
I looked into the silicone ones for dd2, but we really haven't felt the need to use them this time around.

LO did not take a pacifier, so I skipped getting one of these.

They are nasty and hard to clean.
We used them a few times for frozen fruits, but we did BLW, so it was for rare treats.
We actually still use them at 3 years old with ice, if she gets a little mouth injury.
I would definitely go with the silicon ones this time around.

I had both the mesh and silicone feeders for LO. He had some feeding and swallowing issues so I was really worried about choking. We used the mesh feeder to allow him to explore new tastes and textures. The mesh ones are more difficult to keep clean and banana stains them. You can order replacement mesh pieces on Amazon. I'm not sure if I would use them again for a potential LO2, but they were useful for us for a short time.

I bought the mesh ones but never really used it. We did BLW and LO didn't really need the mesh feeder. I guess he used it a few times to suck on something like a piece of pineapple or something? Definitely not something I'm worried about having for LO #2!

We had the mesh ones for #1. I used them like two times and threw them out. They were so hard to clean!

We had the mesh ones and hardly used it. My son wasn't that into it, it was a nightmare to clean, and the time it gets used for is so short.

We LOVED ours with DD but ours wasn't silicone and it was super hard to clean banana and avocado out of. We also put in strawberries, peaches, pineapple. Anything really. It was so nice because we did BLW but with 2 kids 19 months a part and 2 parents with low tolerance to hunger, it made feeding her easier and a little more hands free and manageable!

We used it a fair amount when DD was teething. We would put an ice cube it in and she'd happily gnaw on it.

I used it once and it was impossible to get clean. I do like to freeze breastmilk in them though got a teething Popsicle.

We used 3 of the kidsme silicone feeders and loved them. We would make our own purees and freeze cubes of them, then chop them in half to put in the feeder. LO used them at least every other day from 6-9m.
We had mesh ones and tried to do frozen purees in them too, but they took 2 runs through the dishwasher.

Didn't use. Someone gave me a silicone one and I also never used it. Seemed like a pain in the butt to me. I just ripped or cut stuff super tiny or gave huge pieces that she could taste but not break down.

We never used them with D, but we loved them with A. We'd put chunks of frozen fruit in and she'd suck and gnaw on them. It never had the chance to get too messy because she just sucked all the juice as it melted.

My son loved eating certain foods out of our silicone feeder (so easy to clean) but it was especially helpful when he was teething. I would pop some frozen fruit in there and it was a lifesaver!

I think these are such a pain to clean but good for teething. We used it a few times with lo1 but didn't buy with lo2.

We got a few as gifts/hand-me-downs, and never used any of them. LO was picking up all of her food from the start, so I never really figured out the purpose.
