I've read on here to get the liquid alcohol free version. Do capsules work just as well? Desperately trying to still boost supply since I don't go back to work until jan 7! I just pumped and got nothing on either side but fed LO and e got some out. Amazing how that works!

I used more milk plus special blend (capsules) which also has goat's rue added. It helped a bit. Now I take Domperidone which my doctor prescribed 4x a day. It has helped increase my supply a bit but I still have to supplement a bit.

@betsyboop I have been taking fenugreek for 2 plus months now...not much as far as results. Any tips? I take a TON of it a day!

MMP capsules were a god send for me. MMP special blend didn't do anything for me and fenugreek alone didn't do anything for me.

@matador84: I take 2 capsules of fenugreek 3 times a day, but I also take it with blessed thistle.

@littlehoney I need to find some with thistle. The kind in taking has thyme.

@matador84: I was told to take the fenugreek without thyme. I'm not sure which is better tho! The blessed thistle I'm taking is a separate pill from the fenugreek. I've also been eating oatmeal & drinking mother's milk tea.
Before I started I was only producing an ounce or so, but now I'm getting about 4 ounces per pump session. Hopefully you find something that works for you! -
@matador84: My OB recommended brewer's yeast and...wow. It worked for me. I can usually feed my LO just enough to fill him up, and I have to supplement during growth spurts. But, I have been eating brewer's yeast for 3 days now and I pumped an extra 5oz the first night and an extra 3 oz each day since. Usually I can't pump a single drop extra because I barely make it through the day to feed LO. I also take fenugreek 3x a day, 3 capsules each time with a huge bottle of water (like a 24oz bottle of water which I refill throughout the day).
I'm saving all my extra pumped milk for future growth spurts. -
@turtledoves where do you get brewers yeast? Is it a pill?

@matador84: I got it as actual powdery yeast because it is more potent that way.
Anyways-the yeast is not for baking bread! It is for making beer;) But I put it into my soups and sprinkle it on salads, on baked potatoes, on my morning bagel with cream cheese...
It doesn't have a strong taste, but I couldn't eat it alone because it's yucky (and dry). It tastes kind of like peanuts? When I put it into my salad it mimics the taste of sunflower or even sesame seeds.

Low supply stinks! But I commend you for doing what it takes to make sure your LO gets the BM (even if all you can provide is one feeding a day!) When I told my OB that my goal was to BF for 1 year but that I never though my supply would make it that far she told me that obviously being EBF is ideal, but if I can just provide 1/4 of his feedings in BM form then I am doing my LO a favor that will help him for the rest of his life in development/ immunity/ health..so that encouraged me to just give it all I got this year and try to provide as much milk as I can. And if I have to supplement, so be it!

Bumping. I have been taking reglan for 2 weeks and I swear its giving me stomach problems. Bought some brewers yeast today. How much to take?? So glad Ive been able to cling onto EBF 5 months now...want to make it one more month at least! Got sick this last week and didn't pump at all one day. Pumped like 3 oz another day at work.

@Matador84: Have you tried lactation cookies? Oatmeal? When I saw a dip in my supply, I immediately panicked and ate a bunch of oatmeal cookies
my breasts felt full again the next morning. I had oversupply issues so I think I started taking my milk fr granted but will be more careful from now on. I hope you can find something that will work for you!
