When he's nursing! He screams his face off unless he's on the boob. I know he's getting enough because he's gone through a ton of diapers tonight. i cant even walk into the kitchen to get a drink or he's hysterical! He has been like this all night. He's 7 weeks old tomorrow. Is this normal? I thought this kind of behavior happened earlier, when you're building your supply...

I don't know what it is, but I know how frustrating it is! Hang in there. Can you put him in a carrier? Would that help?

@Pepper: did he go through one at 6 weeks? It is around 6 weeks, it varies with everyone. But I remember mine eating all the time for that spurt. It was the roughest.

@Smurfette: Not yet... he has been eating more frequently this week, but not constantly wanting to nurse like he is tonight! I'm hoping it's the growth spurt and he comes out happier when it's over!

@Foodnerd81: I think all he wants is to eat! He doesn't want held, rocked, swung... nothing. He just wants to nurse nonstop.

Movie night! It's prob a bit of a spurt and he'll back off soon. When I needed a break I'd swaddle her up and hand her to my husband or he'd turn on some music and dance with her and I got out of the room. She'd protest but would calm down after a few minutes and at least give me time to shower but I had to be out of the room for her to calm down.

@Pepper: we had a few days like this here and there when C was under three months old. Growth spurt, developmental leap, cluster feeding, comfort nursing, who knows! Baby just needed mommy/boobie! Hang in there, I know it's exhausting, but it will pass.

Someone said me to me in a Moms group and I just try to remember that everything in infancy was more than likely just a short phase. Hang in there!

LO did the same thing last night! I thought I was going to lose my mind. She napped til like 230 and from then til we put her to bed at 8 she was eating nonstop. I eventually had to let DH give her a bottle or I wouldn't have gotten dinner. Augghh. LO is 6 weeks on thurs so I think it's a growth spurt.
