My LO is 6 months and we have finally weaned from the nipple shield! I thought we were stuck with using the thing forever but one day she was just done with it! Yeah!

@yellowbird: update... We have been not using the shield and DD is doing great but I am HURTING! I know you went through the same thing, did your nipples hurt as they kind of toughened up? Or did you have to teach your LO to latch again? I'm afraid she picked up lazy habits with the shield. Any insight would be great!

I was sore for 2-3 days and it seemed like sometimes my LO would latch great and sometimes she would do a shallow latch. When she would shallow latch (once I figured out that's what it was) i would take her off and try to have her latch deeper. After a day or two of that she got it.
Now she's super distracted lately and wand to look around while nursing, so that hurts but isn't a latch issue!
