After a pretty rough afternoon and evening, Sawyer James arrived at 9:52 pm, weighing 8 lbs. 4 oz. and measuring 19 1/2 inches long.
We ended up with a c-section because we never made it past 5 cm in 18 hours. And with a membrane rupture, they didn't really want to wait a whole lot longer. It was totally not what I wanted, but I was so tired from 8 hours of unmedicated intense pitocin contractions I was ready to get him out. I was also GBS positive and we had meconium stained fluid so there were a few other little issues.
The section went a million times better than I thought it would, although I think the recovery is going to be a bit of a challenge. All I care about though is having my baby here and healthy.
