Our nanny does all baby related housework, so dishes, bottles, cleaning up toys, laundry, etc....and she makes LO a home cooked lunch every day. She also keeps a running list of whatever baby supplies we need and rotates clothes out that are out of season/ too small.

She doesn't drive and doesn't need to in our area, but if she did, I would just have her take our car so I didn't have to worry about the car seat. If she was using her own car, I'd factor the cost of gas for kid activities into her salary.

I don't feed her lunch, but have offered to stock whatever drinks and snacks she likes. However, she has religious food restrictions so she brings all her own food (including snacks which she keeps at our house). The only think she's ever asked for is bottled water.

As for comp, we pay a weekly guaranteed salary for a maximum amount of hours. She also gets paid sick days and 2 weeks paid vacation (though it's usually 3 weeks because that is what my husband and I take). I'm happy to take specific numbers but I find this to be regional. I'm just outside NYC and most people that are not in this area find her comp shocking

We worked this all out ahead of time so it's gone very smoothly since. Light housekeeping, yes. She does D's dishes and laundry and will empty the dishwasher. I do not pay for gas or provide lunch, but she is welcome to eat whatever we have (she doesn't really). I do buy memberships for her to the zoo, children's museum, etc. She does a fair amount of cooking for LO too.

We pay 15/hr for approx. 32 hours a week. It's a very average rate in SoCal where we live. We paid vacation for our first nanny, but I don't believe we did with this one, or it might've been one week (we did pay a Christmas bonus though). She only works during the school year and has all school vacations off.

I nannied for a family of 3 kids before having children of my own.

They always left me their van for when I had to drive the kids to their various activities or just to the park or grocery store. They'd leave cash if I requested it if we needed to pick something up or pay for an activity. They just wanted to know what the $ was going towards.

I only made about $75 a day (8am-5pm) but that was okay because it was supplementary income and it sounded fun for while I was pregnant. (I was only a few weeks pregnant when I got the job.) They also offered me anything I wanted to eat or drink that was in the house.

I had no problem doing dishes, watching the dog, providing home cooked breakfasts and lunches and picking up the kids toys/laundry/books, driving them to and fro, and filling out a journal with all of their daily activities/food etc. but the mom in this situation grew to be very demanding so I actually had to give my two weeks notice earlier than I would've liked because I felt she wasn't paying enough for what she expected me to do. She grew very demanding and was requesting that I sweep and vacuum daily, do their own (adult's too) laundry, etc. This was not part of the original agreement or in our contract. It got to the point where she was so demanding I just couldn't take it. (She also started getting home at 5:30-5:45pm and not paying extra, despite the contracting stating I'd be out of there at 5pm. It was not a great situation.)

We are part of a nanny-share which is normally at the other family's house. The nanny watches 2 LOs who are 17 mo and 18 mo. She picks up all the toys at the end of the day and cleans up after meals. She will do their LO's laundry and run the dishwasher if she has time, but it is not expected.

She takes both LOs on outings in her car - we pay for the outings if they cost $, but have not reimbursed her for gas. Each family pays $8.66 per hour if both kids are present, $12 if only one child is. The 2-child rate is a touch high for our area, but we are really happy with the arrangement and are willing to pay to keep everyone happy.

We have a full time nanny that comes to the house 5 days per week. Right now she only goes to places that are within walking distance so I'm not sure about gas reimbursement right now.

We told her she is welcome to eat anything in the kitchen and sometimes I buy things with her in mind.

She does all the house keeping related to DD: washes bottles,laundry, picks up toys, keeps the nursery clean, vacuums, mops, dusts. She also goes above and beyond and keeps the kitchen and appliances clean, vacuums and mops the entire house (except our bedroom), dusts everywhere, etc. Just general housekeeping (no deep cleaning.)

We pay her a weekly salary that we guarantee meaning that even if we don't need her on a day or if we let her go early, we still pay her. We also pay her for any holidays that DH and I get off from work and don't need her to come in. Plus she gets a week of paid vacation plus any vacation that DH and I take.

We have a PT nanny. We let her use one of our cars. I work from home so it's not a big deal. She has to be back midday for DS to nap, so that's when I get out to run errands, workout, etc. But if she did use her car we would def. reimburse for mileage. We pay for any outings that have a cost associated, and she has a prepaid card she can use (and she gives us receipts).

As for lunch, we've offered to buy her a few things at the grocery and she is always welcome to what we have, but she usually brings something.

Other than watching/playing with the kids, she does a little light housework when she can (if DS2 is napping and DS1 isn't around or is watching a show). Dishes, sweeping, wiping counters, etc. Nothing major, but it's still a big help.
